Blizzard is implementing significant updates to Diablo 4's character classes and adjusting the game's damage calculation. These revelations came to light during the recent Diablo 4 Campfire Chat, which also provided more information on the upcoming Season 2, known as the Season of Blood.

Following its launch, Diablo 4 rapidly became one of Blizzard's highest-selling games and received critical acclaim. However, its success was short-lived, as it faced heavy backlash from fans after the release of the Season 1 update. Many fans were displeased with the alterations made by Blizzard and voiced their concerns across various platforms. In response, Blizzard held an emergency Campfire Chat to address the community's worries and promised to avoid repeating such missteps. Now, Blizzard has unveiled significant changes that will be introduced in Diablo 4 Season 2.

The recent Campfire Chat unveiled Blizzard's key focuses for Season 2: Elemental Resistance, Unique items, damage overhaul, and individual class improvements. Elemental Resistance is now being emphasized in player builds to enhance their survivability. In response to community feedback, Blizzard has revamped the Unique items in Diablo 4. Many of these items receive significant stat boosts and new perks to make them more rewarding. Additionally, various class-specific skills are being revamped, and the game's damage stacking mechanism is undergoing changes. While damage calculation remains multiplicative in most cases, there will be areas where it is changed to additive, providing players with a substantial boost in stats.

With the arrival of Diablo 4 Season of Blood, players will be introduced to a vampire hunter companion named Erys, who will assist them in defeating the unknown Dark Master and their hordes. Additionally, players will unlock new vampiric powers by obtaining the Pact Armor. To enhance the challenge of higher level activities, Blizzard is introducing 5 new endgame bosses who will drop guaranteed Unique and Uber Unique items. Moreover, Diablo 4 Season 2 will expedite players' progression to level 100 by increasing experience gain by approximately 40% after level 50.

Nevertheless, despite the significant changes in Season of Blood, Diablo 4 has experienced a decline in popularity, with a 98% decrease in Twitch viewership since its launch. Players have consistently expressed their dissatisfaction with the game's lack of content, but Season 2 aims to address this issue and potentially spark a revival in the game.

Diablo 4 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
