Game of Thrones alum Thor Björnsson’s wife, Kelsey Henson, has suffered a delayed miscarriage.
With deep sadness, we inform you of the arrival of our daughter, Grace Morgan Hafthorsdottir, who was born on November 8th at 21 1/2 weeks of pregnancy. In an Instagram post shared by Henson, 33, on Friday, November 10, and also by Björnsson, 34, we learned that our precious baby's heart had stopped beating after a noticeable decrease in her movements. We are at a loss for words to express the immense pain caused by this loss, yet we are grateful for the time we had with our daughter.
Henson further expressed, "Grace is truly a magnificent being, blessed with golden lashes and eyebrows, and she even graces us with a tiny smile for her mom and dad. The love we have for her is beyond measure. The grief we bear will always be present, but so will the love."
Björnsson, best recognized as Gregor Clegane (also known as "The Mountain") on Game of Thrones, tied the knot with Henson in 2018. In October, they joyfully revealed that they were anticipating their second child. Their firstborn, Stormer, is now three years old. Additionally, Björnsson has an older daughter named Theresa from his previous relationship with Thelma Björk Steimann.
Henson expressed her sorrow on Friday, sharing, "All of our aspirations and dreams for her have been tragically taken away, but I have faith that we will be reunited someday. Her spirit lives on in her siblings and in us. During this time of grieving, we kindly request that our privacy be respected."
Prior to Henson’s pregnancy with Grace, the married couple dealt with infertility.

"We have been attempting to conceive again for the past three years," Björnsson revealed in an October YouTube video. "We encountered some challenges in conceiving Stormer."
Henson also shared that it took her close to two years to conceive after discontinuing birth control. "When you are hoping to become pregnant, it feels like an eternity," she expressed. "And every month, as you eagerly wait to see if you're pregnant, taking pregnancy and ovulation tests, it truly feels like a lifetime."
Björnsson and Henson experienced several unsuccessful attempts at IVF before conceiving their second child, Stormer, naturally. Almost three years after the birth of their son in 2020, they made the decision to grow their family further.
"We attempted various methods, but nothing worked. We even went through another round of IVF," Björnsson shared in a video on social media. He also mentioned that they were left with only one viable embryo following an egg retrieval process.
In June, Henson successfully underwent an embryo transfer. At the time, the Icelandic actor joyfully shared in a video that his beautiful wife, Kelsey, is currently 18 weeks pregnant, and they feel incredibly blessed and happy.
