Manchester United midfielder Emma Watson is set to be sidelined due to a significant knee injury sustained while representing her country on international duty. Despite her transfer to the Women's Super League from Rangers earlier this summer, the 17-year-old has not yet had the opportunity to make an appearance for United.
Emma Watson, the midfielder for Manchester United, has unfortunately sustained an ACL injury while representing Scotland during international duty. This comes as Watson, who has already scored three goals in four senior caps for Scotland, joins the growing list of women's football players facing this injury.
The 17-year-old is presently receiving treatment and rehabilitation at Carrington, with the dedicated support of our medical teams. Manchester United is fully committed to working closely with Emma to assist her in achieving a successful recovery.

Skinner: Why Man Utd should be feared and fearless this season
Manchester United are heading into another phase of their evolution.
Five years after restructuring as a women's team, they are on the verge of making their first appearance in the Champions League. In October, they will compete against PSG in a two-legged tie to secure a place in the group stages.
However, with new hurdles to overcome, fresh adversaries to confront, and additional tournaments to prioritize, they have undergone another summer of numerous arrivals and departures.
Twenty-two players, five of whom were on loan, have left. Estelle Cascarino has returned to her parent club PSG after her loan period. However, only three of them were regular first team players. Alessia Russo and Ona Batlle departed to Arsenal and Barcelona, respectively, on free transfers. Additionally, Vilde Boa Rise joined Atletico Madrid.
Skinner expressed gratitude towards the outgoings, acknowledging their significant contribution to Man Utd's history. Despite the perception of excessive departures, he emphasized that the club's rapid growth necessitated squad development. These players played a crucial role in securing a spot in the Champions League for the current season.
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved. We assured every departing player that they will always be part of our family, and we are here to support them whenever they need assistance.
Our situation in the league is truly exceptional. Four seasons ago, we transitioned from being a Championship team to entering the WSL. Since then, our journey has been about progressing from aiming for a top-four position to competing for a spot in the top three, and ultimately striving to become champions.
