The Simpsons showrunner Matt Selman clarified rumors about the show predicting Diddy's recent issues. He explained that an image of Diddy as a Simpsons character evading the police is actually created by AI, not the show's animation team.
"In the age of digital misinformation, the so-called 'predictions' from The Simpsons have lost their significance," Selman explained in an article for TMZ on May 23. He mentioned that nowadays, anyone can create an AI image related to a current event and claim it was predicted by The Simpsons. Unfortunately, many people easily fall for these claims because they desperately want them to be true.
Recently, a viral image depicting Diddy as a character from The Simpsons trying to escape from Springfield's police has been circulating. This image gained popularity after security camera footage surfaced showing Diddy assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Cassie, in a hotel corridor back in 2016.
The Simpsons has a knack for predicting future events, such as Donald Trump becoming president and Disney buying 20th Century Fox.
According to Selman, one of the show's creators, studying history can help you foresee the future because people tend to repeat past mistakes. He also mentioned that with thousands of jokes about American society in almost 800 episodes, it's not surprising that some of them ended up mirroring real-life events.
Diddy, who is 54 years old, apologized on Sunday, May 19. This came two days after CNN released a video showing him assaulting Cassie in 2016.
In his apology, Diddy mentioned how hard it is to look back on the toughest moments in life. He admitted that he was in a bad place at that time, hitting rock bottom. However, he made it clear that he was not making any excuses. Diddy took full ownership of his actions in the video, expressing his disgust for his behavior.
I sought professional help and have been attending therapy and rehab. I asked God for mercy and grace. I am deeply sorry, and I am dedicated to becoming a better man every day. I am not asking for forgiveness, but I truly regret my actions.
Cassie's legal team released a statement to We, criticizing the video for focusing more on himself than on the people he has harmed.
Meredith Firetog, a partner at Wigdor LLP, mentioned that when Cassie and several other women spoke out about their experiences, he denied everything and claimed they were just after money. She added that his apology only came after his lies were exposed, which she believes shows his desperation and insincerity.
Recently, on Tuesday, May 21, TMZ reported that model Crystal McKinney has filed a lawsuit against Diddy, alleging that he sexually assaulted her in 2003.

Editor's P/S:
The revelation that the image of Diddy as a Simpsons character evading the police was not created by the show's animators but by AI highlights the need for critical media literacy in the digital age. With AI-generated content becoming increasingly sophisticated, it's essential to question the source and context of information before blindly accepting it as fact. The Simpsons has gained a reputation for predicting future events, but as the showrunner points out, many of these "predictions" are simply coincidences or the result of the show's vast library of jokes and observations about American society.
Diddy's apology for his past behavior is a reminder of the devastating impact of domestic violence. While it's encouraging that he has taken ownership of his actions and sought help, it's important to remember the victims and hold him accountable. The fact that he initially denied the allegations and only apologized after being confronted with irrefutable evidence raises questions about his sincerity. The lawsuit filed by Crystal McKinney further underscores the need for continued vigilance in combating sexual violence and supporting survivors.
