The release of Death Stranding on iPhone, iPad, and Mac has been postponed from the end of 2023 to 2024, according to an announcement from publisher 505 Games. "We just need a little more time," the publisher stated on social media.
The Death Stranding Director's Cut will be available for mobile devices and Mac computers upon release, with compatibility for iPads and Macs equipped with an M1 chip or newer. Fans will require the iPhone 15 Pro to enjoy the game, which is priced at $40. Earlier this year, Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Village arrived on the iPhone 15 Pro, with Assassin's Creed Mirage and The Division Resurgence set to debut on the newest iPhones in 2024. While Apple's iPhones have previously supported current-gen games through cloud gaming, they will now be accessible on Apple hardware natively.
In other Death Stranding news, Kojima Productions recently announced a deal with movie studio A24 for the Death Stranding movie. Kojima Productions is also developing Death Stranding 2.

As a Gen Z fan, I am both excited and disappointed about the postponement of Death Stranding for iPhone. On the one hand, I understand that the studio wants to ensure a flawless gaming experience for players, and I appreciate their commitment to quality. On the other hand, I was really looking forward to playing Death Stranding on my iPhone and experiencing the game's unique blend of action, exploration, and storytelling on a mobile platform.
The requirement of an iPhone 15 Pro to play the game is a bit of a bummer, as it means that not all iPhone users will be able to enjoy it. However, I understand that the game's advanced graphics and gameplay mechanics may require the latest hardware to run smoothly. I hope that the studio will consider making the game available on a wider range of devices in the future.
