What We Know About What If...? Season 2
What If...? season 1 was officially announced in April 2019. In December of the same year, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige confirmed that a second season was already in development. To cater to animated series', including What If...?, Marvel Studios established the Marvel Studios Animation branch. Alongside What If...?, other projects like a Marvel Zombies spinoff and Spider-Man: Freshman Year were also initiated. However, all these series still exist within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and explore alternate realities within the multiverse. What If...? season 2 will continue this trend with the release of nine episodes. The episodes are expected to be released weekly after the premiere in late December 2023, as part of the MCU's Phase 5.
Jeffrey Wright will reprise his role as the voice of the Watcher in What If...? season 2. The Watcher is an enigmatic being overseeing the series' stories. Season 2 will pick up right where Season 1 left off, with Captain Carter discovering that Steve Rogers is still alive. Additionally, the Iron Man and Gamora episode that was not included in Season 1 will be featured in Season 2. Furthermore, an original MCU character named Kahhori will be introduced, as will the return of the Tesseract. The upcoming season will also see the return of Cate Blanchett as Hela and Laurence Fishburne as Bill Foster. The premiere is expected to take place around Christmas Day, 2023.

As a hard fan of both Deadpool and the MCU, I am thrilled to see the potential for Deadpool to emerge victorious over Thanos in the MCU multiverse. The mind-bending possibilities of What If...? Season 2 are endless, and I can't wait to see how the writers explore the character of Deadpool in this alternate reality.
The fan art depicting Deadpool defeating Thanos singlehandedly is both epic and hilarious, and it perfectly captures the character's unique blend of humor and violence. I would love to see this scenario play out in an actual episode of What If...?, as it would be a great way to showcase Deadpool's skills and abilities while also providing a fun and entertaining story.
