David Tennant's highly-anticipated return to Doctor Who is just around the corner, and in honor of his reappearance as the beloved character, SFX Magazine has unveiled new images from the upcoming 60th Anniversary special episodes. These short stories, set to debut later this year on Disney+ worldwide (excluding the UK and Ireland), will take Tennant's Doctor on a thrilling adventure as he embodies a different incarnation of the timeless Time Lord. Time is running out for this intrepid scientist with a TARDIS, and he must uncover the reason behind his sudden return to a previous appearance.
Entitled "The Star Beast," "Wild Blue Yonder," and "The Giggle," these episodes will also showcase the return of Catherine Tate as Donna Noble, the Doctor's devoted friend and loyal companion who had her memory wiped to protect her life. As the Doctor's presence poses a significant danger to Donna, the pair must exercise caution while defending the planet against extraterrestrial threats. While Jodie Whittaker's Doctor faced her fair share of perilous situations, it seems that the galaxy will always find a way to trouble the Doctor.
After the announcement of David Tennant's return as the Doctor and Rusell T. Davies' comeback as the showrunner, fans eagerly anticipated the reunion of this dynamic duo that took Doctor Who to unprecedented levels. However, this doesn't imply a complete return to the series as it was twenty years ago, during the era of Billie Piper's portrayal of Rose Tyler. On the contrary, the creative team behind the Time Lord's captivating narrative is thrilled to steer the show towards new horizons.

Ncuti Gatwa is The Doctor
Despite David Tennant's return to the show's main role, his stay will be brief as the BBC gears up for the introduction of the next Time Lord. Ncuti Gatwa has been announced as the successor to the Doctor, and fans can anticipate his debut during the 60th Anniversary specials before he takes center stage for an entire season next year. While viewers have yet to witness Gatwa on screen as the character, he has recently commenced production on his second season as the Doctor. This implies that audiences can look forward to encountering Gatwa and Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson) numerous times in the coming future.
The Doctor Who 60th Anniversary special episodes premiere on Disney+ on November 25.

As a Gen Z fan, I am incredibly excited about David Tennant's return to Doctor Who. I grew up watching Tennant's portrayal of the Doctor, and he is my favorite actor to play the role. I think he brings a lot of energy and charisma to the character, and I can't wait to see him back in action.
I'm also excited to see Catherine Tate return as Donna Noble. Donna was a great companion, and I think she had a lot of chemistry with Tennant's Doctor. I'm curious to see how their relationship has changed since we last saw them together.
Overall, I think the 60th anniversary specials are going to be a lot of fun. I'm excited to see what the new episodes have in store for us, and I can't wait to see Tennant and Tate back on screen together.
