In a 2014 interview with the Mirror, Holmes provided a detailed account of the accident that befell him. The incident occurred during a perilous flying scene in Death Hallows Part 1, where Holmes was forcefully propelled backwards with such tremendous velocity that he was abruptly propelled into a wall. Consequently, this resulted in his neck fracturing. Reflecting on the incident, Holmes recollects that his initial concern was not for himself or the excruciating pain he endured, but rather for his parents and how he would break the news to them.

David Holmes: The Boy Who Lived marks another collaboration between Radcliffe and Holmes after his accident. In fact, the duo joined forces in 2020 to launch the Holmes’ Cunning Stunts podcast, aiming to shed light on the thrilling (and sometimes perilous) world of stunt performers in Hollywood.
