Bachelor Nation fans were quick to spot a bouquet of daisies on the After the Final Rose stage to welcome contestant Daisy Kent from The Bachelor season 28. However, Daisy herself didn't notice the gesture at first.

During an episode of “The Squeeze” podcast on Wednesday, April 17, Daisy, 25, admitted, “I didn’t really even notice it. I remember me sitting there and out of the corner of my eye I remember seeing a daisy but I didn’t think anything of it.” It was only after seeing TikToks of herself with daisies that she realized the sweet gesture.

Tay Lautner, one of the podcast cohosts, made a funny comment about bringing a bunch of daisies on stage instead of the usual roses from The Bachelor. It seemed like a last-minute attempt to convince Daisy to become the next Bachelorette.

After Joey Graziadei proposed to Kelsey Anderson on the season 28 finale in March, fans were excited for Daisy to be the next Bachelorette. However, during the After the Final Rose episode, Daisy publicly turned down the role. Instead, Jenn Tran, another contestant from season 28, was chosen as the next lead.

Daisy expressed her contentment with her choice not to be The Bachelorette, stating that she feels "very happy" about it. She mentioned, "I think it was the best thing for me."

Reflecting on her decision, she admitted, "I did wonder though, I did question, when it was announced how I was going to feel." However, upon the announcement, she felt relieved. Daisy shared, "And I just felt relieved. And I think I felt relieved too because the show was over, everyone knew what actually happened. … I just felt a weight lifted off of me, I was like, ‘I can breathe again.’"

Daisy declined the role because she felt that she was in a good place mentally and physically. This decision was influenced by her battle with Lyme disease, which also led to her experiencing hearing loss and getting a cochlear implant.

During an interview on “The Viall Files” recently, Daisy shared that her health was a major factor in her decision. As the lead, she knew the role would be emotionally and physically demanding. Daisy had conversations with previous leads who confirmed that the role required late nights and nonstop activity, which she felt would be a lot for her health.

Who is the best ‘Bachelor’ couple of all time?

Daisy shared that she had many discussions with her family and former Bachelor Nation leads before ultimately deciding to take on the role.

She said that many people found it to be the most challenging thing they had ever done, but at the same time, they also considered it to be the most rewarding experience. Nobody had any regrets, but they all advised to make sure to be fully prepared before taking on the challenge. It just didn't feel right to them.
