Cross-Progression Arrives in Apex Legends Just in Time for Halloween

Cross-Progression arrives in Apex Legends this Halloween, fulfilling the community's four-year-long demand for the highly anticipated feature Get ready to seamlessly transfer your progress across platforms and enjoy a unified gaming experience like never before!

Apex Legends Season 19: Ignite is approaching, and despite the season starting on Halloween, players are already experiencing a sense of early Christmas with the exciting news of cross-progression being implemented into the game.

This long-awaited feature was announced through the game's launch trailer, and the developers at Respawn confirmed in recent previews that it will be introduced alongside Season 19 when it becomes available on October 31st. But what is the exact functionality of this new addition?

During Season 19 previews, developers clarified that merging accounts would consolidate all cosmetics. Therefore, if you currently possess a Wraith skin of Legendary-tier on your PC account and a Revenant skin of the same tier on your PlayStation account, you will soon have the ability to access and use both skins, regardless of the platform you are playing on.

Regarding statistics and stat trackers, the Respawn developers informed attendees of the preview that the "dominant" account would serve as the primary account for the player. This means that the account with the highest statistics (and potentially the most total matches played) will be deemed the main account. When accounts are merged, all cosmetics from both accounts will be available on any platform. However, only the statistics from the dominant account will be reflected on the in-game stats page.

When you merge your accounts, your Revenant kill count will remain at 10,000 on PC and 1,500 on Xbox, rather than totaling 11,500 kills from both accounts. Additionally, there will be no refunds for any duplicate event/store/battle pass cosmetics across multiple platforms. This applies to Mythic-tier items like Heirloom Weapon Sets and Prestige Skin Sets as well. If you already have Revenant's Apex Nightmare Prestige Skin unlocked on two different accounts, merging your account will not grant you a set of Heirloom Shards. However, most players are primarily concerned with having access to all their cosmetics on all platforms, and they will be pleased with Respawn's implementation of this new feature.

In the past, cross-progression has been a contentious issue among Apex players, due in part to mixed messages from Respawn. Despite promises of its imminent arrival, seasons came and went without any updates on when cross-progression would be available. This lack of information led to complaints, confusion, and even dedicated Twitter accounts demanding answers from Respawn. Needless to say, the news of cross-progression finally being implemented is likely to be well-received by Apex players, regardless of whether they have patiently awaited its arrival or fervently demanded its implementation.

Cross-progression will be available as soon as Apex Legends Season 19: Ignite goes live on October 31 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET.
