The venue was brimming with fervent fans, donning vibrant blue India shirts and sporadic bursts of green, orange, and white as they enthusiastically brandished Indian flags. The home team celebrated a resounding seven-wicket win amidst this spirited sea of supporters.
Often referred to as one of the most intense sporting rivalries globally, a cricket match between India and Pakistan is perpetually influenced by the geopolitical divides that separate these two nations.

The crowd was mostly devoid of Pakistan fans, as travel restrictions and historical mistrust between the two nations made it extremely challenging for them to come to India.
The teams had not faced each other in India for seven years, and Pakistan had never won against India in a men's World Cup. Despite this, Pakistan started strongly, with captain Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan contributing 82 runs for the third wicket, and Babar scoring his first half-century against India in an ODI match.

Led by a formidable performance from Rohit Sharma, who scored 86 runs off 63 balls, India effortlessly chased down Pakistan's total, with 117 balls remaining.

Rohit, speaking to us, credited the bowlers for their outstanding performance in setting the game for us once again. He commended their efforts in limiting the opponents to a score of 190, considering it was not reflective of the pitch conditions.

India's upcoming match is scheduled for Thursday against Bangladesh, while Pakistan is set to face Australia on Friday.
