In a heartwarming incident in Georgia, a police officer pleasantly surprised a young boy with a brand-new PS5 after receiving a complaint from neighbors who desired the boy to leave the area. This touching moment was shared on social media, where users not only commended the officer's benevolent act but also praised the boy who was gifted the new PS5.
The event occurred in Hapeville, Georgia, situated in southern Fulton County and a short distance away from downtown Atlanta. The Hapeville Police Department revealed on social media that Officer Eric Colleran was dispatched to a neighborhood following a report from a caller claiming that a 16-year-old boy was going door-to-door and should be evicted. Having served the Hapeville PD for seven years, Colleran approached the boy, who introduced himself as Keonte Evans. Evans politely explained that he was canvassing the neighborhood to offer his services in lawn care, such as grass cutting, weed pulling, and hedge trimming, in order to save money for new school clothes for his five younger siblings and purchase his own PS5 for playing online games.
Impressed by the boy's manners and honesty, Colleran resolved the misunderstanding with the caller and joined forces with his fellow officers to assist Evans. After resolving the issue, Colleran and Evans went their separate ways. A few days later, Colleran surprised the 16-year-old by gifting him a brand-new PS5 and a PlayStation Plus membership, which he kept in the trunk of his patrol car. Evans expressed gratitude towards Colleran and reciprocated with two hugs, one upon receiving the gift and another after placing the PS5 inside his home. Ever since receiving the console, Evans has been playing on it daily.
Colleran, both a gamer and a police officer, helped Evans not to seek attention but to impart a lesson on honesty and hard work. Despite this generous gesture, Evans is still searching for part-time employment to assist his family in purchasing new clothes for the upcoming school year.
The heartwarming story of Ofc. Colleran and Keonte Evans quickly spread across social media, with users expressing gratitude to Colleran not only for his kindness but also for shedding light on their inspiring encounter. The future holds the possibility of Colleran and Evans crossing paths again, perhaps through games like Call of Duty: Warzone.
