Controversial Fallout 4 Mod Postpones Launch Amid Starfield Anticipation

Highly anticipated Fallout 4 total conversion mod postpones launch to avoid coinciding with the release of Starfield, ensuring maximum attention for its debut

The release of the highly anticipated game Starfield has prompted the creators of Fallout 4 mod Fallout: London to postpone its release. It wouldn't be beneficial for the mod to compete with Bethesda's new open-world RPG, considering their overlapping player base. Furthermore, Starfield is one of the most anticipated games of 2023. While Fallout 4 has numerous impressive mods, the scarcity of total conversions amplifies the excitement surrounding the release of Fallout: London. The announcement of the mod last year, accompanied by an 18-minute gameplay video, piqued the curiosity of many fans. In fact, the quality of the work impressed Bethesda to such an extent that they offered employment to some of the developers on the team. Consequently, the former lead technical adviser of the mod, Ryan Johnson, decided to join Bethesda, leaving the project behind.

A new update video from the team behind the highly anticipated Fallout: London reveals a change in release date. Instead of September, the game will now be released sometime between October and December. The developers made this decision due to concerns that the launch would be overshadowed by Bethesda's new space exploration title, Starfield, which experienced its own delay. With the additional time, the team plans to further enhance the user experience of Fallout: London, ensuring a smoother gameplay from the beginning.

Fallout: London is a standalone mod set in the year 2237 in London, taking place between the events of the first and second games in the franchise. As it unfolds in a completely new country, all factions in the game will be entirely new as well, including an organization inspired by the legends of King Arthur. The developers have stated that Fallout: London will feature a vast map, comparable in size to Fallout 4, along with various smaller hubs.

In addition to this project, numerous other ambitious Fallout 4 mods are currently in development. One noteworthy example is Fallout: Miami, a total conversion mod that aims to replicate the success of Fallout: London by introducing a completely new location and an engaging storyline for players to delve into as they navigate this new world.

Fallout 4 is currently accessible for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and will be made available for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2023. The highly anticipated Fallout: London mod is slated for release in the fourth quarter of 2023.
