Concerns arise among players in Season 5 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 due to the introduction of the M13C Assault Rifle. Comparisons to the M13B Assault Rifle from the game's initial season have led to widespread criticism, with many questioning the purpose of the new weapon.
The M13C provides improved maneuverability during gunfights, however, its shorter barrel results in higher recoil and reduced range. Despite the existence of a comprehensive weapon tuning system, players have begun substituting it in their loadouts. Infinity Ward plans to make adjustments to the M13C based on player feedback in the forthcoming Reloaded update for Season 5.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 players deem one of the game's latest firearms as "unnecessary" due to the presence of a pre-existing weapon that has been available since the game initially launched. Activision and Infinity Ward introduce new armaments in each season of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and some of these additions generate heated discussions among community members.
Season 5 of Modern Warfare 2 was released earlier this month, featuring new events, weapons, operators, maps, and various other content. The launch of Season 5 also signaled the start of significant preparations for the unveiling of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. In fact, Activision officially hinted at the title just a few days after the season's release. Additionally, players can still anticipate substantial content in Modern Warfare 2, including a significant Season 5 Reloaded update. However, one of the new weapons introduced in Season 5 is facing intense criticism from dedicated Call of Duty fans.
In Season 5 of Modern Warfare 2, player SWAGLORIAN and other fans feel that the new M13C Assault Rifle is a pointless addition to the game. Unlike most new guns, this weapon can only be obtained by completing a challenge in the Shadow Siege event, rather than progressing through the Battle Pass. Many fans prefer the M13B Assault Rifle from the game's first season, as it offers greater range. Additionally, despite its numerous attachments, the M13C's performance in gunfights is lackluster according to some players.
The M13C does offer better mobility in gunfights compared to the M13B, but its shorter barrel results in higher recoil and decreased range. As a result, some players have already started removing the weapon from their loadouts, despite the game's comprehensive weapon tuning system.
The introduction of the M13C has led to criticism of Infinity Ward by Modern Warfare 2 players, who have found the weapon to be lacking in performance. The comparison between the M13B and M13C further emphasizes the latter's difficulties in mid to long range gunfights. Thankfully, player feedback can assist Infinity Ward in improving the M13C if they determine that adjustments are necessary.
The Reloaded update for Modern Warfare 2 Season 5 is set to launch at the end of the month. It is expected that this update will include a new set of weapon adjustments, giving players the opportunity to see if the M13C is included in the adjustments made during Season 5.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
