When does Season 19 start?
Apex Legends Season 19: Ignite launches on Tuesday, October 31 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET
What maps will be in rotation during Season 19?
Respawn developers have confirmed that Broken Moon, Olympus, and Storm Point will be available in rotation for all battle royale matches. This includes both Ranked Mode and the game's more casual public lobbies. Typically, Ranked Mode features a separate selection of maps, but for Season 19, this will not be the case.
Cross-progression cometh
Exciting news for Apex Legends players as the announcement of cross-progression has finally arrived. Players' wishes have been granted with the ability to merge accounts, combining Apex Packs, Apex Coins, and other currencies. This eagerly anticipated feature will be available starting from October 31, coinciding with the launch of the new season.
Respawn has confirmed that there will be no refunds or additional rewards given to players for merging their accounts. This means that if you have the same skin on multiple accounts, you will not receive compensation in the form of Heirloom Shards or other rewards. The same applies to non-Mythic items purchased through the in-game store or Collection Events. Although players will still have access to their duplicate Legendary skins, no refund will be provided for buying them twice.
However, all cosmetics will be merged. So, if you primarily play on Xbox but have some favorite skins on your PlayStation account, you don't need to worry. Once you merge your accounts, all the skins from both accounts will be available to use on any platform you play on.
New legend: Conduit
Conduit made her debut in the gaming community through the release of a new episode of Stories From The Outlands. This episode showcased a massive battle occurring in the settlement where she and her older sister resided. The settlement was ultimately saved thanks to the brave sacrifice of a Pilot operating a Monarch Titan. Many years later, Conduit's sister took on a hazardous job in an attempt to secure a stable living situation for the both of them. Unfortunately, she suffered a devastating workplace accident that resulted in her arm being crushed by heavy machinery, resulting in severe injuries.
Upon finding her sister, injured and overwhelmed by piles of unpaid bills, sobbing at the kitchen table, Conduit took it upon herself to resolve the situation. That night, she stealthily made her way to the site where the Monarch Pilot made the ultimate sacrifice, and cautiously reached out to touch the remains of the battery used to obliterate the enemy Titans. Inspired by Valkyrie, Conduit ingeniously repurposed the fallen Titan's remnants to fashion her own formidable battle equipment, and bravely left her home to join the Apex Games.
Conduit, a legendary Support-class character, possesses the unique ability to access additional healing supplies from secret compartments concealed within the blue Extended Supply Bins scattered throughout the numerous maps of the game. Furthermore, she possesses the remarkable skill to create Banner Cards from fallen squadmates at Replicators, even if their respawn timers have already expired.
Although she may be lacking in height, Conduit possesses extraordinary abilities that rival those of a Titan. Now let's take a closer look at her exceptional skills on the battlefield:
Passive: Savior's Speed
By dashing towards a squadmate who is beyond her tactical range, Conduit acquires a momentary acceleration, propelling her forward with incredible speed.
Tactical: Radiant Transfer
In times of need, Conduit has the power to transmit a surge of protective energy to a nearby ally, resulting in the restoration of both party's shields for a brief period. Although the effect is fleeting, it can prove invaluable during critical moments.
Ultimate: Energy Barricade
An assortment of shield-jamming devices is unleashed by Conduit to inflict damage upon enemies and curtail their mobility.
Ranked reworked
Respawn has made changes to the rewards in Ranked Mode. The temporary skydive trails that players used to receive as a reward for reaching certain ranks have been replaced with permanent seasonal banner frames. However, the bigger change this season is the introduction of Promo Trials. These are individual challenges that players must complete in order to be promoted to the next rank. It is important to note that Promo Trials will not be active during the provisional placement matches. Once players have settled into the season, they will need more than just Ranked Points (RP) to rank up.
When players reach the top of their current rank, they will encounter a Promo Trial. This trial will require them to complete a specific challenge such as achieving a certain amount of damage, kills, or wins. Players will have five matches to successfully complete the Promo Trial. If they succeed, they will be promoted to the next rank. However, if they fail, they will lose a few points and will have to work their way back up to the next rank. On their second attempt at the Promo Trial, they will have six matches to try and complete it.
Players will receive an extra opportunity to complete the challenge if they fail a Promo Trial, with a maximum of 10 tries available. Each rank will have the same Promo Trial, so players won't face a different challenge after climbing back up to the top. Respawn's aim in introducing Promo Trials is to reward active players and discourage excessive gameplay strategies in lower ranks.
Matchmaking tweaks
The removal of party restrictions is another significant change implemented in Ranked Mode. Previously, players were restricted from teaming up with friends who had achieved much lower or higher ranks. However, starting from Season 19, this limitation no longer exists. Now, even if a Predator player wants to invite their Bronze-tier friend to a Ranked Mode match, the game will no longer prevent them from doing so.
Matchmaking tweaks
While the details remain scarce, Respawn has confirmed that players can expect adjustments to the matchmaking system in non-Ranked battle royale matches. These changes won't be implemented immediately but will be gradually introduced over the coming seasons. Ultimately, the aim is to make Ranked Mode more enticing for highly competitive players, while providing a slightly less intense experience in standard battle royale matches for new players or those seeking a more relaxed gameplay.
Storm Point's sunny skies
In the Season 19 gameplay trailer, Lifeline expresses admiration for the vibrant new appearance of Storm Point. The storm that previously dominated the area has finally subsided, allowing for the commencement of the cleanup process. Exciting changes have been made to the map, including the addition of new Points of Interest (POIs), such as a dedicated area inspired by Wattson. Furthermore, structural modifications have been implemented to enhance ease of movement and create a more interconnected feeling throughout the expansive map.
Efforts have also been made to address the issue of "loot deserts," where players would often find themselves running considerable distances without stumbling upon a Supply Bin or any relevant floor loot.
However, the most prominent alteration to the landscape can be observed in the skybox. The once ominous storm clouds have been replaced with vibrant pink formations reminiscent of cotton candy. Furthermore, players will be delighted to witness the presence of vividly colored rainbows gracefully stretching across the sky.
Keen-eyed players may notice intriguing details scattered throughout the map, particularly in and around Wattson's point of interest, known as Pylon. Collaborating with the Syndicate, Wattson is diligently working to restore Suotamo's power grid after it was crippled by a formidable tropical storm. Given Wattson's evident affection for Crypto, who hails from Suotamo, it's no surprise that she's motivated to assist in repairing the power grid.
Respawn has also hinted at the addition of enticing Easter eggs in this area, including a hidden Nessie plush within the Pylon point of interest. Additionally, there are environmental elements that may provide clues about "the Syndicate's true intentions for Suotamo."
Kill Code continues
Introduced in Season 18, the Kill Code animated series will continue throughout the year, with Respawn confirming the upcoming release of a new episode. The current storyline focuses on the ongoing conflict between Revenant and Loba, as they strive to uncover the origin of the undead assassin's source code. The legends are determined to unravel how newly appointed Syndicate leader Torres "Duardo" Silva obtained Revenant's source code, and how he significantly altered the abilities of this robotic legend. Most importantly, they are eager to uncover his motives for targeting Revenant.
Other changes
Moreover, with regards to the series, the spotlight has predominantly been on Lifeline, Mad Maggie, Valkyrie, and Crypto, apart from Loba and Revenant. It will be captivating to witness whether Conduit (or any other legends) will make an appearance in the forthcoming episodes.
Other changes
Whilst the patch notes are yet to be unveiled, Respawn has confirmed various fundamental changes to the gameplay. A significant alteration is the inclusion of a weapon in all Care Packages, even those in the initial round of a match. This alteration is likely to encourage players to take risks by approaching these valuable loot drops earlier in the game, without waiting until they have acquired ample equipment to defend against an enemy squad ambushing them.
Wraith's passive ability, Voices From The Void, has been improved by Respawn. Players will no longer receive an alert when an enemy is close to them while they are looting the enemy's deathbox.
Additionally, Respawn has addressed the issue of the "can't see sh*t meta," as described by balance director John Larson. Certain legends with abilities that can blind, prevent scans, or obscure their squad from view will have slight adjustments in Season 19.
Catalyst's kit is undergoing significant changes this season, particularly her Piercing Spikes tactical ability which is set to be nerfed in Season 19. Respawn has confirmed that its throwing range will be slightly reduced. Moreover, her powerful Dark Veil ultimate ability will have a shorter lifespan, making it less effective against scans.
