She was discovered deceased at her Virginia residence that morning. Authorities suspect her passing was due to a medical emergency, and there is no suspicion of any wrongdoing. Before joining CNN, Stewart held the position of communications director for multiple presidential campaigns, such as those of Sen. Ted Cruz, Gov. Mike Huckabee, Sen. Rick Santorum, and Congressman Michele Bachmann. She also acted as a surrogate for the Republican National Committee.
During a December 2020 interview with the Harvard Political Review, Stewart explained that her role at CNN is that of a "conservative commentator," where she offers her conservative perspective on current political events.
