Developed by Gentleman Rat Studios, Critter Cove marks their third game, following the success of their mobile titles Peggoo Pop and Blocktagon. Notably, the project has the support of tinyBuild, a renowned indie game publisher known for their critically acclaimed titles like Pathologic 2 and Hello Neighbor.

Critter Cove sets itself apart from typical horror games by providing a tranquil experience on a tropical island reminiscent of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. This life simulation game invites players to reconstruct a vibrant archipelago town, engaging in exploration, crafting, and befriending a diverse community of anthropomorphic animals. Sailing is a notable feature in Critter Cove, accompanied by an extensive array of home furnishings and customizable options for the main character.

Critter Cove, an upcoming game, has similarities to Stardew Valley. While farming mechanics are included, the main focus is on exploration and socializing, similar to the Animal Crossing series. Additionally, there will be a significant emphasis on town management, with players able to build their own houses. The release date for Critter Cove has yet to be announced, but the PC version is planned for early access in the first quarter of 2024.
