On November 8, the KADOKAWAanime YouTube channel released a new trailer for the highly anticipated anime. The trailer showcases the intense school-wide special exam, with both familiar and new rivals competing against each other. Additionally, a new synopsis is delivered, highlighting the escalating rivalry between Kiyotaka Ayanokouji (voiced by Shoya Chiba) and Arisu Sakayanagi (Rina Hodaka), as previously shown in a key visual released in July.
Crunchyroll has announced that the Classroom of the Elite sequel anime will be available for streaming when it premieres in January 2024. In addition, they have also revealed that there will be early screenings of the anime at Anime NYC on Nov. 19. The upcoming third season will cover the remainder of Year 1 of the Classroom of the Elite light novel series, which includes the main story from Volumes 8 to 11. As of November 2023, Classroom of the Elite is nearing the end of Year 2, with 10 volumes of the main story already released. Surprisingly, a second season of the anime was announced in September 2022, despite concerns that the significant changes from the source material would prevent it from happening. The anime series has garnered praise for its compelling storylines and intelligent characters, with protagonist Ayanokouji standing out in particular.
Studio Lerche will be animating Season 3 of Classroom of the Elite, with Seiji Kishi and Hiroyuki Hashimoto directing. The official synopsis for the 3rd season reveals that Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing School is a seemingly perfect institution, boasting a 100% advancement and employment rate. Students are rewarded with 100,000 yen worth of points every month. However, the reality is that the school operates on a merit-based system, with only top-performing students receiving special treatment.
In the third semester, Ayanokoji and his friends are promoted to Class C from Class D, and they are transferred to a school located in the forest. The new synopsis provides further details about the upcoming events. The students will participate in a unique exam called the "mixed training camp." This camp will bring together students from all grades. The exam is divided by gender and requires cooperation among students from different classes in order to achieve a high score.
The students are shocked to learn that failure to meet the minimum requirements will result in expulsion. This rule puts even more pressure on them as they must work with their former rivals in order to succeed. The turbulent third semester is about to commence, causing upheaval among the students.
