Clark Gregg took to Instagram on Mother's Day to show some love to his ex-wife Jennifer Grey. He posted a throwback picture of Grey and their daughter Stella, with a caption wishing Grey a happy Mother's Day. In the caption, Gregg described Grey as a "badass super mom" and added red heart and fire emojis to show his appreciation.
Grey expressed her gratitude to her ex-husband in the comments, saying, "And of course, thank you forevermore @clarkgregg for giving me the gift of motherhood and for our @stellagregg!!"
Stella, on the other hand, playfully teased her father about the photo he chose. She humorously commented, "Oh, great choice with the training bra photo," referring to her younger self.
Gregg and Grey got married in July 2001 and had their daughter Stella in December of the same year. In July 2020, they shared the news of their separation. In an Instagram post, they mentioned that even though they decided to divorce after being together for 19 years, they will always be a family that loves, values, and takes care of each other.
In their statement, they expressed gratitude for the life they have had together and the joy of raising their daughter. They also shared that despite the decision to part ways, they remain close. At the end of the post, they added a note saying they were feeling emotional as they shared this news.
Gregg filed for divorce in Los Angeles County the following month. According to court documents we obtained in November 2020, Grey kept earnings from her iconic 1987 film Dirty Dancing, plus its 2004 sequel, Dirty Dancing 2: Havana Nights, as a part of their divorce settlement.
Clark Gregg (@clarkgregg) shared a post on social media.
In their divorce settlement, Grey was entitled to 50 percent of Gregg’s royalties and residuals from his Marvel projects, like The Avengers and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The divorce was finalized in February 2021.
The exes have maintained a friendly relationship since their breakup. Before the release of Grey's memoir, Out of the Corner, Gregg expressed his gratitude to her for not speaking poorly of him in the book. In February 2022, he posted on X, "4 words u never want to hear frm [sic]: 'I’m writing a memoir.' So believe me when I say this book is great. It is wise, fearless, funny, and doesn't trash me too much. If I saw the final version. Wait."
The former partners have stayed connected on social media. They joined forces with other actors to protest against major Hollywood studios during the SAG-AFTRA strike last year. Gregg shared a photo on Instagram of their reunion, captioned, "Walking the line with OG BFF @jennifergrey." Grey also posted the same picture, adding, "ON STRiKE picketing with OG @clarkgregg."
Gregg recently shared a throwback photo of Grey and Stella enjoying a milkshake to wish her a Happy Mother's Day in 2023. He captioned the sweet Instagram snap with a heartfelt message: "Crushing the mom game with her signature tsunami of love and laughs since 2001. Lucky us - @jennifergrey ❤️."
