Chris Stapleton fans in Texas will have to wait a little bit longer to hear “Tennessee Whiskey.”

Stapleton, aged 45, revealed on Wednesday, October 11, that he will be rescheduling his upcoming concerts in Corpus Christi, Houston, and Lafayette due to illness. In a statement shared on Instagram, he expressed his regret, stating, "I apologize for the inconvenience, but I won't be able to perform this weekend's shows." Stapleton explained that he has been diagnosed with bronchitis and laryngitis and has been advised by his doctor to rest his voice over the weekend to aid in recovery.

The postponed concerts will now take place on November 16, 17, and 18. Stapleton extended his gratitude for the patience and understanding of his fans and expressed his hopes of seeing them all in November. Stapleton is preparing for the release of his fifth album, Higher, scheduled to drop on Friday, November 10. Unlike his previous albums, this one does not feature any guest artists or cover songs. In an interview with SiriusXM in July, Stapleton mentioned that this was not a deliberate choice, but rather how the album naturally came together. He also mentioned that his wife, Morgane Stapleton, will be making an appearance on the record, as she often does as his constant collaborator.

In May, Chris finally brought home the Entertainer of the Year award at the Academy of Country Music Awards. This was his fifth nomination for the trophy, but his first win.

"I must say, I'm genuinely surprised. In all honesty, I can't comprehend how I am deserving of this recognition, but nonetheless, I am grateful," he expressed in his acceptance speech. "There are countless remarkable individuals in this category, and I am humbled to be among them. My purpose is to stand up and create music. Every night, my goal is to compose songs and produce records."

With immense gratitude, he continued, "Winning this award has never crossed my mind. I want to express my deepest appreciation to everyone who pours their dedication into enabling us to pursue our passions - especially my wife, Morgane. Thank you."

Chris concluded the event by dedicating his victory to his and Morgane's five children: Waylon, Ada, the twins Macon and Samuel, and their youngest child, whose name remains undisclosed. Expressing his gratitude, Chris acknowledged the sacrifices made by his kids and his wife, stating that they have given up a significant amount of their time to support his endeavors. He emphasized that his win was dedicated to them, symbolizing their importance in his life.
