While the dark-haired sorcerer had the intention to protect her, fulfilling the objective of the Kamunabi, which was "the eradication of dangers to the nation," restrained him from doing so. Consequently, Char remains under Chihiro's protection.
Azami proceeds to reveal that the higher authorities at the Kamunabi are aware of Char and Chihiro being pursued by Sojo. In an effort to gain insights, they wanted to consult Shiba, who previously belonged to the Kamurabi. In the next chapter, the story takes us to a mysterious location where Sojo is engaged in a conversation with two individuals regarding the upcoming auction.
Meanwhile, at Hinao's residence, Chihiro comes to the realization that Sojo has a clear connection to Hishaku. Azami then discloses the information that Sojo has been on the Kamunabi's blacklist for over a decade. Despite this, they have been unsuccessful in apprehending him due to his cautious nature and considerable power.
