Selling Sunset star Chelsea Lazkani's estranged husband, Jeff Lazkani, has responded to her divorce filing.
According to People, Jeff filed his own paperwork on Tuesday, April 2, seeking a divorce. He cited irreconcilable differences and accused Chelsea, 31, of displaying suspicious behavior during their marriage. Jeff mentioned that several of his personal belongings went missing or were taken from their California home after Chelsea initiated the divorce process.
The businessman accused Chelsea of being physically aggressive towards him, claiming she struck him in the face in an aggressive manner, resulting in his glasses breaking and causing a small cut on his face. Jeff expressed concern about living on the same property as Chelsea for the well-being of their children, Maddox, 5, and Melia, 3.
Furthermore, Jeff stated that Chelsea provokes him and records him in an attempt to catch him overreacting. He also accused her of being physically aggressive both before and after filing for divorce. Jeff alleged that Chelsea installed a lock on the primary bedroom, remotely monitors his access to the property, and records him while he is at the property.
Jeff has requested "exclusive use and possession of" their five-bedroom home, which he has owned since 2018.
Chelsea filed for divorce on March 27 after seven years of marriage. Although the paperwork did not specify the date of separation, Chelsea asked for joint physical and legal custody of their children. She also requested spousal support but did not seek to terminate Jeff's ability to ask for alimony.

Jeff mentioned that he does not want the court to grant spousal support to either party. He was surprised to learn about the divorce through a text message from a media outlet. Jeff also learned that Chelsea supposedly opened a separate bank account when she filed for divorce.
The last time Jeff slept in the home was on the day he found out about the divorce. He mentioned that he and Chelsea haven't shared the primary bedroom since shortly after their second child was born. Despite his attempts to move back into the room, Chelsea refused as she had gotten used to having her own sleep space.
Chelsea and Jeff first crossed paths on Tinder during her trip to the U.S. in 2015. After hitting it off, Chelsea decided to settle down in Los Angeles to be with Jeff.
In an interview with the Daily Mail in May 2022, Chelsea shared, "We chatted around 15 times before deciding to meet up. I believe in investing my time and energy wisely, so I wanted to make sure it was worth it." She added, "It felt like I already knew him even before our first meeting, and our connection was instant."
The couple tied the knot after dating for two years. Viewers of Selling Sunset got a peek into their relationship when Chelsea became a cast member in season 5. There is a possibility that Chelsea's choice to end her marriage might be shown in the next season of Selling Sunset. The cast revealed during the season 7 reunion, released on Netflix in November 2023, that the show has been renewed for more episodes.
Editor's P/S:
The allegations and counterclaims in the divorce proceedings between Selling Sunset star Chelsea Lazkani and her husband Jeff Lazkani paint a disturbing picture of a marriage gone awry. Jeff's accusations of physical aggression and Chelsea's claims of provocation raise concerns about the safety and well-being of their young children. The fact that Chelsea allegedly installed a lock on the primary bedroom and remotely monitored Jeff's access to the property suggests a level of control and mistrust that is highly concerning.
It is also troubling that Chelsea reportedly learned about the divorce through a text message from a media outlet. This suggests a lack of communication and respect that is not befitting of a long-term marriage. The allegations of suspicious behavior, such as missing personal belongings and the opening of a separate bank account, further add to the complexity of the situation. It is important for both parties to prioritize the well-being of their children and to resolve their differences in a fair and amicable manner.
