Chaka Khan’s daughter, Indira, is feeling joyful and upbeat amidst Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal troubles. Indira, who is also a singer like her famous mother, expressed her happiness in response to Diddy’s recent Instagram video. In the video, Diddy apologized for his past actions towards his ex-girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura. Indira shared her thoughts in the comments section.
"I'm happy that you're experiencing this," she wrote on Tuesday, May 21. She mentioned, "You were in my [mother's] face, openly disrespecting her" and "shouting and yelling like a crazy person."
Indira went on to say, "When my brother attempted to intervene and remove you from my [mother's] space, your security team aggressively confronted my [19-year-old] brother."
Chaka, the 71-year-old Grammy-winning singer of "Tell Me Something Good," was tagged by the person. They also mentioned Diddy, 51, in their post, expressing their enjoyment in watching his downfall during what they referred to as his difficult times. They seemed to find amusement in the situation, comparing it to entertainment.
Diddy, 51, chose not to respond to the person's comment. Recently, he has been caught up in a growing scandal after a disturbing video emerged showing him physically assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Cassie, 37, back in 2016. The footage, released by CNN on Friday, May 17, captured the music mogul violently grabbing Cassie by her neck, pushing, dragging, and kicking her.
Cassie's attorney, Douglas H. Wigdor, stated that the gut-wrenching video has only confirmed Mr. Combs' disturbing and predatory behavior. He praised Cassie for her courage in coming forward to bring this behavior to light.
In November 2023, Cassie filed a lawsuit against Diddy for sexual assault and physical abuse during their 10-year on-and-off relationship. Diddy denied the allegations but settled the case quickly. His attorney clarified that the settlement was not an admission of guilt.
After Cassie's lawsuit, more women came forward with accusations against Diddy, which he continued to deny. Joi Dickerson-Neal filed a lawsuit claiming that he "drugged, sexually assaulted and abused" her during her time as a college student in 1991. Diddy called her claims "made up and not credible" and "purely a money grab."
In a recent apology video on Sunday, the rapper addressed the 2016 footage of him and Cassie. He expressed, "It's difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, sometimes you gotta do that. I was messed up. I mean, I hit rock bottom but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I'm disgusted."
He mentioned, "I sought professional help, attending therapy and rehab. I prayed for God's mercy and grace. I apologize and am dedicated to improving myself each day. I'm not seeking forgiveness, just expressing my sincere regret."
Shortly after the video went viral, model Crystal McKinney filed a lawsuit accusing Diddy of sexually assaulting her in 2003. According to legal documents, Crystal alleges that she and Diddy smoked a joint together on the night they met in New York City. She claims the joint was spiked with a drug, causing her to feel dizzy. Crystal also states that Diddy took her to a bathroom where he forced her to engage in oral sex.
McKinney stated that after the incident, she lost modeling opportunities and faced challenges in her career. This led to feelings of depression and thoughts of suicide in 2004.
As of now, Diddy has not responded to McKinney's allegations.
