Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York carried out the law enforcement actions as part of an ongoing investigation, with support from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and local law enforcement partners. They have stated that more information will be provided as it becomes available.
At that time, many news sources said that the investigation was related to a federal sex trafficking case. Diddy's representatives were not able to comment right away.
In the last year, Diddy has been accused of sexual assault by several people, but he has strongly denied these claims. After the raid, many celebrities such as 50 Cent, Aubrey O'Day, and Diddy's ex-girlfriend Cassie shared their reactions on social media.

In the statement given to Us on March 25, Cassie's representative mentioned, "We fully support law enforcement in their efforts to bring justice to those who have broken the law. It is our hope that this is just the start of a process that will hold Mr. Combs accountable for his inappropriate behavior."
In November 2023, Cassie accused Diddy of rape and repeated sexual abuse in a lawsuit. Shortly after filing, the exes settled. However, after Cassie spoke out, multiple alleged victims came forward accusing Diddy of sexual misconduct. Diddy vehemently denied the allegations.
It is not clear if Cassie’s allegations are connected to the current investigation.
Aubrey O’Day
Aubrey O’Day collaborated with Diddy for most of her career. She was the lead singer of the girl group Danity Kane, which was created on Diddy's reality show Making the Band 3. When Cassie spoke up, O’Day also criticized Diddy and stood by Cassie.
