Catherine Zeta-Jones Gives a Stylish Spin to Jessica Simpson’s Iconic 2005 VH1 Awards Dress

During her vacation in Portofino, Italy, Catherine Zeta-Jones brought back a nostalgic fashion moment for us. The 53-year-old actress was seen wearing the exact same dress that Jessica Simpson donned at the VH1 Big in ’05 awards in December of that year. Zeta-Jones complemented the sparkly purple outfit, featuring a deep neckline, waist rouching, and a pleated skirt, with espadrille wedges, a small black clutch, and oversized sunglasses. She opted to wear her hair down, letting her locks flow gracefully over her shoulders.
Zeta-Jones was photographed out and about in Europe with her husband, Michael Douglas, who played it cool in a dark blue button-up shirt and white trousers.

In 2005, meanwhile, Simpson, now 43, teamed the gown with open-toe sandal heels, dangling earrings and smoky eye makeup.
The garb Simpson wore after her split from her then-husband Nick Lachey was considered a "revenge dress." They got married in October 2002 and divorced in June 2006. Simpson later married Eric Johnson in July 2014, while Lachey married Vanessa Lachey in July 2011.
Zeta-Jones has delighted us with her casual slay on more than one occasion this summer.
Earlier this month, Catherine Zeta-Jones took to Instagram and shared a stunning collection of swimsuit photos. The actress looked absolutely mesmerizing in a dark-colored one-piece featuring a plunging neckline. She accessorized her look with oversized sunglasses and a stylish floppy straw hat.
The caption, simply stating "Ciao," garnered immense praise from her fans. One admirer commented, "Mother is mothering," while another excitedly exclaimed, "MOMMY???? SORRY??" A different follower chimed in, describing Zeta-Jones as "THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN," and yet another admirer jokingly wrote, "I need your hand in marriage."
Zeta-Jones caught attention at the 76th annual Cannes Film Festival in May. She wore a stunning red dress by Elie Saab for the event's opening ceremony, which celebrated Douglas' career. The dress had a charming low-cut design with sheer details and an attached cape. Douglas, 78, looked handsome in a timeless tuxedo. Their daughter, Carys, joined them and wore an elegant white lace dress. Zeta-Jones and Douglas, who got married in November 2000, also have a 22-year-old son named Dylan. (Douglas also has another son, Cameron Douglas, 44, from his previous marriage to Diandra Luker.)
