Cara Delevingne’s parents think they know what caused the fire at their daughter’s Los Angeles mansion. Charles Delevingne shared his thoughts with TMZ photographers in London on Friday, March 15. He believes it was likely due to an electrical issue, possibly related to power lines, especially since it was very windy at the time.
Charles mentioned that he hopes Cara, who is 31 years old, is doing "well" after watching her West End performance of Cabaret that night. We had heard earlier on Friday that Cara's residence in Studio City had caught on fire. It took over two hours and nearly 100 firefighters to put out the blaze.
After ensuring all residents had safely exited the house, the Los Angeles Fire Department shifted to a defensive strategy as the intense fire had been burning for a long time, weakening the building's structure. The situation worsened as the roof collapsed, prompting firefighters to continue fighting the flames from outside using hose streams. It took a total of 94 firefighters over two hours to finally access, contain, and put out the fire.

Cara Delevingne, known for her role as Sally Bowles in a London revival of Cabaret, was not at home when the incident occurred. However, her two beloved pet cats were inside the house at the time. Charles, Cara's friend, mentioned that the cats have not been located yet.
Cara's mother, Pandora Delevingne, provided an update on her daughter's condition following the fire.
"She's really upset," Pandora mentioned to TMZ. "I believe she's really upset. She lost everything in her house. Her entire life. That was her home, she put it together, she decorated it, she had all her belongings in there."
Cara has shared her thoughts on the incident on social media.
"My heart is shattered today. I am in disbelief. Life can take unexpected turns. Remember to appreciate what you have," she posted on her Instagram Story last Friday. "I am deeply grateful to all the firefighters and individuals who have come forward to offer their assistance."
Cara expressed gratitude to the LAFD officials for saving her cats in a follow-up post, mentioning that her pets are safe and sound.
She bought the 8,000-square-foot house in 2019.
"This house is one of my favorite places to be," she mentioned during an Architectural Digest property tour in 2021. "It's like an adult playhouse, that's what I like to call it. I feel like the theme here is definitely inspired by the Mad Hatter's tea party. There are elements of a jungle theme, a touch of the Beverly Hills hotel, and a hint of old English style, but overall, it's very typical L.A."
