Brie Larson has a rescue dog in her life, whom she affectionately calls Six-Thirty. During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the Oscar winner revealed her adorable new companion and shared that she did not choose his unique name. Larson explained that she hesitated to talk about Six-Thirty earlier due to concerns about potentially violating the SAG-AFTRA strike. However, she couldn't resist introducing him to the world, even though she finds his name absurd and inappropriate.
Larson disclosed that Six-Thirty was initially "extremely timid" when she saved him, prompting her to consider various alternative names.
She informed Jimmy Fallon, the host, "My friends suggested every possible name you can think of." She further mentioned, "But then my closest friend, who happens to be a food specialist on my upcoming show Lessons in Chemistry, spotted him and exclaimed, 'Oh my goodness! He's Six-Thirty!' And he responded by looking up."
Larson found the moniker selection intriguing, but also thought it was "too unusual." However, each time she uttered "Six-Thirty," the dog responded, unlike when she tried other names.
"I tried everything. For four days, I called him Dog, Jeremy, Jimmy, David," expressed the Marvels actress with regret. "While in the pantry, I even questioned if he was flour, salt, or black pepper."

She added, "Let's respect his choice and be polite when we encounter him."
Although Larson and Six-Thirty accepted the decision peacefully, the pet's veterinarian lacked understanding.
Larson commented that her vet finds it absurd and is uncertain about it. According to Larson, there would be instances when the receptionist would say, "Your Six-Thirty's here," and the vet would be confused, stating, "It's 2:00, I have no idea what that means." Larson expressed how perplexing this situation is.
Although Larson takes great pride in being a dog mom, she has no plans of getting a cat in the near future, despite her onscreen character Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers having a sidekick named Goose.
"I'm still allergic," she jokingly stated in an interview with Entertainment Weekly in July. She mentioned that her allergies prevented her from performing her own stunts in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) whenever the feline, named Goose, was around. "I hope that changes. However, until then, a significant portion of the CGI budget is allocated towards me and the cat."
In both Captain Marvel and its sequel, The Marvels, which was released on Friday, Larson's character, the titular superhero, develops a special bond with a flerken named Goose. As per comic lore, a flerken is an alien species that resembles a cat but possesses numerous tentacles in its mouth, which proves beneficial during battles against villains.
