Brentford has reached a club-record agreement to acquire centre-back Nathan Collins from Wolves for a staggering £23m. This surpasses the previous fee of £21m paid for 21-year-old German forward Kevin Schade and establishes Collins as Brentford's priciest signing to date. The defender joined Wolves from Stoke just last summer for approximately £20m.
The 22-year-old Republic of Ireland international, who has 14 caps for his country, will undergo a medical with the west London club in the next few days.

Last week, it was reported by We News that Brentford was in advanced negotiations to secure the signature of the defender. The acquisition of a centre-back has been a primary focus for Brentford this summer, aiming to enhance their performance following their ninth-place achievement in the Premier League last season.
Wolves reportedly turned down a £30.5m bid from Napoli for Max Kilman, one of their centre-backs. However, it seems that the Premier League side is holding out for a higher offer.
