VIZ Media and Nintendo have revealed plans to release a digital version of a manga adaptation of the popular game franchise in English. This marks the first time that The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, a manga based on the video game, will be accessible on digital platforms. Until now, it has only been available in physical copy.

Starting from August 22, the first three volumes of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess will be available for digital reading.
The comic adaptations of The Legend of Zelda franchise began in 1990 with the Nintendo Comics System. The first manga was created by Akira Himekawa and published in 1999. It was later published in English in 2008. "Akira Himekawa" is a pen name used by two female Japanese mangaka, A Honda and S Nagano, whose identities are a secret. Together, they have produced various manga series, including the collaboration with Qais Sedki to create the UAE's first-ever manga, Gold Ring, the 2003 Astro Boy manga, and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess manga which is currently being prepared for its first digital release in English.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess manga was first published in print in 2016. Akira Himekawa hinted at VIZ publishing the series in English that same year, and it was officially announced at New York Comic Con. It was initially released on Shogakukan's MangaONE platform in February 2016. The upcoming digital release of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess will be the first time that any of the English-translated The Legend of Zelda manga series are available digitally. Many sources praise the series for being easy to understand, even for those who have never played any games from the franchise.
