Breaking News: Skyblivion Unveils Highly Anticipated Remaster with Official Release Date!

Skyblivion, the remarkable Skyrim mod, reveals its roadmap and eagerly anticipated release date as it takes on the extraordinary challenge of recreating Oblivion using the Skyrim engine Discover the latest update on this ambitious project's progress

The team behind Skyblivion has provided an update on their progress and future plans, giving players a better understanding of when they can expect the ambitious fan project. This project began in 2012, just around a year after the release of Skyrim, and the team has intermittently shared information and gameplay footage of the massive Skyrim mod. While the release of Skyblivion is not imminent, it is likely to come out before The Elder Scrolls 6, serving as a temporary solution for fans eagerly awaiting the next official installment in Bethesda's beloved franchise.

The Elder Scrolls Renewal is a volunteer project that has recreated Morrowind using the Oblivion engine and is now working on the daunting task of recreating both Morrowind and Oblivion using the more modern Skyrim engine. These mods are known as Skywind and Skyblivion, respectively. While there has been limited information on the Skywind project, a recent video uploaded to their YouTube channel gives fans a clear idea of the progress being made with Skyblivion.

TES Renewal has published a video outlining the necessary steps to meet the 2025 release deadline for Skyblivion. Progress has been made on various sections of the world map, with Nibenay Valley and Nibenay Basin nearing completion, and the West Weald at 15% done. Out of the non-Oblivion world areas, including alternate realities and Oblivion Realms, 29 are still outstanding, which the team plans to address last.

Additionally, approximately 50% of the 600 interior spaces, such as caves, ruins, forts, castles, and other structures, have been finished. However, a considerable amount of work remains for the 3D models, including the recreation of clothing, animals, buildings, and trees from scratch. Despite these challenges, Skyblivion is partially playable, thanks to the team's focus on tackling the more intricate aspects first. The video provides a comprehensive breakdown of the remaining tasks for each element of the game.

The video also states that the DLC areas will be addressed only after the completion of Skyblivion. While the Skyblivion project has made significant progress and is advancing steadily, the narrator emphasizes the need for volunteers to assist in achieving the targeted release date of 2025. Currently, Skyblivion is undergoing development and is slated for a 2025 launch.
