Introducing the long-awaited arrival of Radiant Silvergun, a timeless masterpiece in the world of arcade shoot 'em up games, now available on the PC through Steam. Renowned for its exhilarating gameplay, this gem has not only garnered widespread acclaim but also rekindled a fervent interest in the genre among Western gaming enthusiasts.

The PC port preserves all the features and gameplay elements of the original Nintendo Switch version. It has low system requirements and provides a range of difficulty levels suitable for both newcomers and seasoned players.

Additionally, the game features a hidden mode that alters the mechanics to resemble Ikaruga, another game developed by the same team. Players can partake in online leaderboards and indulge in the story mode, either alone in single-player or with friends in local co-op.

The beloved arcade shoot 'em up game, Radiant Silvergun, developed by Treasure, is finally making its way to the PC platform through Steam. Alongside iconic titles like Gunstar Heroes, this game has become one of Treasure's most recognized creations. In recent years, the developer has taken on remastering some of their older games, including Dynamite Headdy and Alien Soldier. Now, they are bringing their highly acclaimed game, Radiant Silvergun, to modern PCs.

Originally released as a 2D shoot 'em up game in arcades, Radiant Silvergun quickly gained popularity and was later ported to the Sega Saturn in the same year. This game played a significant role in reviving the popularity of the Shmup genre in the West, which had declined in the 90s. For 11 years, it remained exclusive to the Sega Saturn and Xbox 360 platforms until its recent release on the Nintendo Switch in 2022. Now, with its arrival on the PC, both new and nostalgic gamers will have even more accessibility to this beloved classic.

Based on last year's Switch version, this PC port of Radiant Silvergun has been handled by Live Wire. The game has minimal system requirements, running on a modern version of Windows with only 4 GB of RAM. It retains all the features from the original, including 23 bosses, six challenging stages, and a strategic scoring system. While there is no official release date on Steam yet, the game's trailer indicates a launch on August 18, 2023.

In this version of Radiant Silvergun, players can choose from five difficulty levels, specifically designed to cater to beginners in the 2D shoot 'em up genre. Steam users can compete with others on the online leaderboard, as well as play the story mode in either single-player or local co-op.

The game includes a secret mode that alters the gameplay mechanics of Radiant Silvergun to resemble its spiritual sequel, Ikaruga, which was created by the same team. This mode incorporates the polarity mechanics from Ikaruga, which have had a significant impact on other games, such as Sonic Frontiers' True Final Boss and Nier's bullet mechanics.

Radiant Silvergun is currently accessible on Sega Saturn, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox 360, and a PC version will be released on August 18, 2023.
