The post-credit stinger, a longstanding Marvel tradition, has influenced a trend in major franchise movies where audiences now anticipate its inclusion. Soon to be released is the latest installment in the MCU, The Marvels, which has already delighted fans through early screenings with the introduction of a beloved Marvel character to the official MCU lineup.
Despite the leaked nature of both credit scenes prior to the film's release, the mid-credit stinger was somewhat anticipated. However, it is the post-credit scene that holds the promise of a larger MCU expansion, even one on a universe-wide scale.
Huge spoilers ahead for those that want to avoid the reveal.

At the conclusion of the film, Monica Rambeau utilizes her powers and appears to have selflessly given up her life to protect the universe. However, she unexpectedly finds herself in a completely different realm. The initial hint of this surprising turn of events is when she encounters her mother, Maria, who is adorned in the Binary outfit. This attire was briefly seen in the recent trailer, which led fans to believe that Storm would be the first to make an appearance.
Instead of being greeted by Kelsey Grammer reprising his role as Dr. Hank McCoy, Beast from the X-Men and explaining the situation, Monica is shocked when she sees him. He expresses confusion about Monica's presence in the parallel reality, as it should be impossible. Hank mentions that he will update Charles on the situation. In response, Monica excitedly mentions wanting to see her mom again, but Maria replies with confusion and asks, "Who?"
It had been known for a year that Hugh Jackman would make his final appearance as Wolverine in Deadpool 3. However, could this be the start of something bigger for Avengers: Secret Wars? Fans had long anticipated the arrival of the X-Men and Fantastic Four after Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox, now known as 20th Century Studios in 2019. Marvel President Kevin Feige had even hinted about the introduction of "mutants" at the San Diego Comic-Con in 2019.
This is Grammer's third time playing the role having debuted with the much-maligned X-Men: The Last Stand in 2006 and again briefly in 2014's X-Men: Days of Future Past.

As a Gen Z netizen, I'm incredibly excited about the potential implications of the post-credits sequence in "The Marvels." The appearance of Hank McCoy, played by Kelsey Grammer, strongly suggests that the X-Men will finally be making their way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This is something that fans have been clamoring for since Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, and it's thrilling to see it finally happening.
The fact that Monica Rambeau finds herself in a parallel reality where her mother is alive and well raises a lot of questions about the nature of the multiverse and how it will affect the MCU going forward. It's clear that Marvel is setting up a major storyline for the future, and I can't wait to see how it all unfolds.
