This new trailer for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth arrived just three months after its official announcement at Summer Game Fest. The Summer Game Fest trailer teased various locations, including the Kalm Inn, the Junon Harbor cannon, and the different fields where Cloud and the party will explore on foot or on the backs of chocobos. While the initial release window was early 2024, Square Enix's latest trailer narrowed it down to the precise date.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is set to release on February 29, 2024, known as Leap Day. Preorders became available shortly after the State of Play event. The trailer showcases Cloud in disguise as a Shinra officer at Rufus Shinra's presidential ceremony in Junon Harbor. During the ceremony, Rufus orders the formidable Mako cannon to be fired, displaying the organization's power. Furthermore, the trailer confirms the appearances of Cait Sith and Vincent Valentine in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. As of now, Cid Highwind remains the only original cast member who has not yet made their debut in the FF7 Remake series.
Additionally, the trailer provides glimpses of the Nibelheim flashback, likely occurring in the game's early stages. It also reveals a variety of Summons that Cloud and the party can obtain, such as Odin, Kujata, Leviathan, and Alexander. Alongside exploring the environment on a chocobo, Cloud will participate in chocobo races at the Gold Saucer. Classic mini-games from the original Final Fantasy 7, including chocobo racing and the iconic motorcycle chase, will be reintroduced.
