Both the police and the university, a small historically black college in northeast Baltimore, have advised individuals on campus to stay indoors and refrain from entering the affected area.

CNN affiliate WJZ has captured footage of numerous emergency response vehicles surrounding a student dormitory building that has been cordoned off with tape. Notably, one of the upper-floor windows of the building appears to be shattered.

In a notice posted on its website, the university has advised everyone to stay away from the vicinity of Thurgood Marshall Hall and the Murphy Fine Arts Center and to remain indoors. The police have reported that they are currently addressing the situation at the 1700 block of Argonne Drive.

ATF Baltimore said its agents are assisting police in responding to the shooting.
