Forest Green Rovers have appointed Hannah Dingley as their interim head coach after Duncan Ferguson's departure, making her the inaugural female to oversee a senior professional men's team in England. Dingley, who joined Forest Green as a coach four years ago, has been the sole woman in charge of a men's English Football League academy since her appointment in 2019.

Forest Green chairman Dale Vince announced that Hannah was the ideal candidate to be the interim head coach of the first team. He emphasized that she has done an exceptional job leading their academy and shares the same values as the club. Vince also highlighted that this appointment signifies a significant milestone in English men's football, as Hannah will become the first female head coach.

Expressing her enthusiasm, she stated, "I am thrilled about this new phase in my career. Pre-season has recently commenced, and the upcoming full season is just around the corner. It is indeed an exhilarating time for football."

"I am grateful for the opportunity to step up and lead such a progressive and forward-thinking club."
