Manchester City has reached an agreement for a €65m (£55.5m) transfer deal to acquire Rennes winger Jeremy Doku. The highly sought-after Belgium international, who has been linked with various Premier League clubs during the summer, is now poised to join the reigning champions.
Man City is currently seeking a new winger to fill the void left by Riyad Mahrez, who departed for Saudi Arabia following City's successful season of winning three trophies.
If Doku finalizes his transfer to the Etihad Stadium, he will join Mateo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol as Pep Guardiola's third recruit during this summer transfer window.
Doku scored for Rennes in their opening Ligue 1 game against Metz, following on from the six league goals he netted last season.

What does this mean for Cole Palmer?
Stay or go? The next few weeks will be crucial for Manchester City winger Cole Palmer as they could determine the trajectory of his blossoming career. The talented 21-year-old has certainly impressed in a City shirt this season, netting important goals for his team in both the Community Shield and UEFA Super Cup matches.

Palmer's winning touch is evident as he celebrates his dazzling strike that broke the deadlock in the Community Shield. Additionally, he played a vital role in England's Under-21 team, contributing to their triumph in the European Championship earlier this summer.
However, considering the player and manager Pep Guardiola expressing uncertainty regarding the winger's future, there arises a question about whether City will retain that winning aura or if another team will acquire it instead.
This is mainly because Palmer has only had the opportunity to showcase his skills for a mere ten minutes in the Premier League during City's initial two matches of the ongoing season.
The player has no doubt regarding the preferred choice this summer: to remain at City and continue playing.
"The ideal situation would be to stay at City and keep playing," Palmer remarked following the Super Cup victory on Wednesday night. "However, we are aware of the competition, especially if they introduce a new player..."
But now City look to turn to Doku - and with West Ham interested in the 21-year-old - is this the moment where Palmer turns round and says enough is enough?

Bernardo Silva looks set to stay at Man City
Paris Saint-Germain have given up trying to sign Bernardo Silva from Manchester City this summer.
The French champions, who had considered the 29-year-old a prime acquisition, have come to acknowledge and appreciate the player's unavailability for transfer. They anticipate the Portugal international to renew his contract with City, given that Silva still has two years remaining on his existing agreement.
City boss Pep Guardiola expressed his desire to witness Silva and Kyle Walker renew their contracts at City during a press conference on Saturday. PSG sporting director Luis Campos, who has a good understanding of Silva, previously collaborated with him at Monaco.
