The premiere of Bradley Cooper’s movie Maestro was made even more special thanks to his 6-year-old daughter, Lea.
At the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles on December 12th, Cooper, 48, walked the red carpet hand in hand with Lea. She donned an elegant animal print gown, sparkling gold flats, and a red purse, while Cooper opted for a dark blue suit.
Directed and co-written by Cooper, the film Maestro, in which he portrays the late composer Leonard Bernstein, will be available for streaming on Netflix later this month. The star-studded cast includes Carey Mulligan, Matt Bomer, Maya Hawke, Sarah Silverman, and Michael Urie.
When Cooper isn't working, his main focus is on raising his daughter with Irina Shayk. The pair welcomed Lea in 2017, two years into their relationship. Although Cooper and Shayk, 37, ended their relationship in June 2019, they have maintained a friendly co-parenting relationship.
Shayk has previously shared insights into their co-parenting approach, telling Elle in March 2021, "When I'm with my daughter, I'm 100 percent a mother, and when she's with her dad, he's 100 percent her dad. Co-parenting is parenting."

The model proceeded to elaborate on her decision to keep quiet about her connection with Cooper. "My previous relationship is personal to me and I prefer to keep it private. It's a part of my inner self that I want to keep to myself," she explained.
Later that year, Shayk commended Cooper for his dedicated and hands-on approach to fatherhood, stating to Highsnobiety in September 2021, "No nanny. Lea went on holiday with him for almost two weeks — I didn’t call them once."

The couple has implemented some “strict” guidelines for their daughter. According to Shayk, "When [Lea] finishes eating, she must get up from the table, take her plate, and say, ‘Thank you.’ Without ‘please’ or ‘thank you,’ she won't receive anything." "It's challenging because she has so many toys. I only had one doll, and I still have it. It's a blonde, blue-eyed, big Russian doll. My grandma used to make clothes for her. I always tell her, ‘Look, this is my doll. I had only one.’ Or sometimes, ‘You have this candy. I used to have candy only for Christmas.'"

Cooper, for his part, shared rare insight into his parenting philosophy during a July episode of Running Wild With Bear Grylls: The Challenge.

"I mean, I can learn from the mistakes of those who came before me, and I will make plenty of my own that hopefully Lea can learn from. I am committed to holding myself accountable and growing, to lighten her load and not burden her with any of my nonsense."
