Bradley Cooper‘s daughter, Lea De Seine, may already be following in his Oscar-worthy footsteps.

At the 2024 National Board of Review Gala in New York City on January 11, Cooper, 49, expressed his pride as a father while speaking with Entertainment Tonight. He raved about Lea's cameo in Maestro, a film he directed, saying "She was in the movie. Yeah, she was great. She was really awesome."

When questioned about the possibility of bringing his 6-year-old to the 96th annual Academy Awards in March, Cooper carefully considered the idea. "Let's wait and see what happens," he replied.

Cooper is known for often having his mother, Gloria Campano, as his date to awards shows. Just last month, she dazzled on the Golden Globes red carpet alongside her son, who was nominated for Best Director and Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama. (Cooper was not the winner, as Christopher Nolan and Cillian Murphy from "Oppenheimer" took home the awards.)

Cooper takes on the role of composer Leonard Bernstein in the biographical drama, starring alongside Carey Mulligan, Matt Bomer, Michael Urie and more. Although Maestro lost out on four Golden Globes nominations, including a Best Motion Picture – Drama nod and individual nods for Cooper and Mulligan, the film gained recognition with nominations at the 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards announced on Wednesday, January 10. Both Cooper and Mulligan are nominated in the lead actor and actress categories.

Receiving Oscar buzz since its release in September 2023, the film has been highly anticipated. Cooper revealed at a November 2023 screening that he dedicated six years to learning how to conduct for one of the movie’s most crucial moments.

"That particular scene had me extremely concerned because it was performed live," he explained, recalling his portrayal of Bernstein conducting the London Symphony Orchestra at the Ely Cathedral in 1976. "It was the London Symphony Orchestra performing live. I had to conduct them. And I dedicated six years to mastering the six minutes and 21 seconds of music."

Bradley Cooper starred as Leonard Bernstein, alongside Lea de Seine as Little Jamie and Carey Mulligan as Felicia Montealegre in the Netflix film "Maestro." Despite pouring his heart into the project, Cooper remained steadfast in his dedication to his family, including his daughter with ex Irina Shayk, whom he dated from 2015 to 2019.

Cooper showed that being a father is his top priority when he temporarily halted a press conference in December 2023 to take a call from his daughter's school nurse. "Can I step out for a moment to return this call and then we can continue?" he asked after looking at his phone, according to the Daily Mail. "Is that okay?"

Upon returning, Cooper revealed that he needed to go to his daughter's school. "I have to handle something that they won't allow...I need to take care of it, it's just a 10-minute walk," he explained.

Shayk, who is 38 years old, and Cooper have consistently shared about the importance of maintaining a positive family dynamic after their separation. In March 2021, Shayk shared her perspective on why she doesn't use the term "coparenting."

"When I'm with my daughter, I am fully focused on being a mother, and when she's with her dad, he is fully focused on being her father," she explained. "I believe that coparenting is simply parenting."
