In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 4, Boruto pursued Code and encountered four unfamiliar adversaries. Among the significant events in this chapter, one notable development was Boruto's acquisition of the Flying Thunder God Technique. However, the question arises: How did he attain such knowledge when this jutsu was seemingly exclusive to the Second Hokage Tobirama Senju and the Fourth Hokage Minato Namikaze, both of whom have long since passed away? Could Minato potentially make a return in the series?

Prior to Boruto utilizing the Flying Thunder God Technique in chapter 4 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, his toad incessantly pesters him to pursue Code. In this scene, Boruto requests the Toad to remain silent, acknowledging that he is not as proficient as his grandfather.
Considering the references Boruto made to Minato Namikaze's abilities, it is highly likely that he had the opportunity to witness his grandfather's impressive skills firsthand. Consequently, this has sparked speculation that Boruto might have encountered Minato during the period of time that was skipped over.

How did Boruto manage to meet his grandfather? Similar to how Naruto encountered Minato during the Shinobi World War, Boruto might have utilized the Edo Tensei jutsu to meet his grandfather. After Eida employed her technique to swap Kawaki and Boruto, Boruto found himself with only a handful of allies, namely Sarada, Sumire, Sasuke, and as revealed in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 4, Kashin Koji.
Consequently, it is plausible that Boruto and Sasuke employed the Edo Tensei technique to revive Minato, who would have been unaffected by Eida's Shinjutsu, in order to assist Boruto. Although neither character is recognized for their use of Edo Tensei, there is a possibility that Sasuke might have acquired the technique after witnessing Orochimaru employ it to resurrect the four Hokage. However, this is only a potential scenario if Sasuke successfully managed to master the technique.

Alternatively, an alternative approach could involve the theft of the forbidden scroll from the Hidden Leaf Village. This particular sequence could potentially occur one year after the events depicted in the original Boruto manga, wherein Sasuke and Boruto possibly faced off against Code.
Otherwise, there is a chance that the scroll theft might have been aided by Kashin Koji. Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 4 hints at this possibility when it reveals Kashin Koji as Boruto's newfound comrade. Being a clone of Jiraiya, his chakra signature matches that of the original, potentially granting him access beyond the security measures of Hidden Leaf Village.

There is another theory suggesting the possibility of time travel in the Boruto series. Various developments in the new manga series seem to imply that Boruto may have traveled to the past during a certain period. While this theory may appear far-fetched, an anime canon arc showed Boruto and Sasuke utilizing an ancient Otsutuki artifact to journey back in time.
Since no one from the past could have recognized them, it provided a secure environment for them to undergo training. This situation might have facilitated Boruto's opportunity to meet his grandfather and acquire knowledge of the Flying Thunder God Technique. Hopefully, the upcoming chapters of the manga will disclose how Boruto utilized this jutsu in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 4.
Editor's P/S
As a Gen Z fan, I am thrilled about the possibility of Minato Namikaze's comeback in the Boruto series. Minato was one of the most beloved characters in the original Naruto series, and his return would be a major event for fans.
There are a few ways that Minato could return. One possibility is that he could be resurrected using the Edo Tensei technique. This technique allows the user to reincarnate a dead person as a powerful zombie. Another possibility is that Minato could travel back in time from the future. This would be a more complicated plot twist, but it would also be very exciting.
No matter how Minato returns, I am sure that his comeback will be a major turning point in the Boruto series. He is a powerful and experienced ninja, and his return will give the heroes a much-needed boost in their fight against the Otsutsuki clan. I can't wait to see what happens next in the Boruto series!
