Blue Eye Samurai plot: What will happen in the show?

According to Netflix, the plot goes like this: "During the 17th century in Japan, when the country was closed off from the outside world, it was extremely rare for the citizens to encounter someone who was not Japanese. However, there were a select few instances of illegal trade where non-Japanese individuals were present. Our protagonist, Mizu, is aware that there were only four white men in Japan at the time of her birth. She embarks on a mission to hunt down and eliminate these men, one of whom she suspects may be her father, the one who brought upon her a great sense of shame. However, seeking revenge is not an option for women in her society, so Mizu must carefully conceal her true identity as well as her distinguishing feature of having blue eyes as she embarks on her quest for vengeance.

Mizu embarks on her journey accompanied by Ringo, a passionate soba maker aspiring for greatness; Taigen, an arrogant samurai whose rivalry leads to a tentative truce; and Princess Akemi, Taigen’s promised bride, whose luxurious existence appears in stark contrast to Mizu’s. Throughout her quest for revenge, we are transported through Edo-era Japan in a captivating series that immerses viewers in a captivating blend of adult animation and live-action aesthetics.

What sets this show apart is its unique visual style. Although it may be surprising, it is not considered an anime. As explained by the creators, it is a 2D/3D hybrid that incorporates elements from both art forms. The visual design of the show draws inspiration from traditional Japanese art, particularly Bunraku puppets, which adds an authentic touch to the overall experience.
