Blue Bloods will conclude its 14-season run on CBS, with the network officially announcing the end on Monday, November 20. Season 14 will be split into two parts, with the first 10 episodes premiering on February 16, 2024. Currently, the remaining eight episodes are being filmed, as production resumed earlier this month after the SAG-AFTRA strike concluded. Fans can expect the series finale to air in the fall of 2024.
"Blue Bloods has become an iconic part of CBS, dominating Friday nights and earning a dedicated fan base. We are grateful to Leonard Goldberg for creating this beloved series and to the incredibly talented cast, led by Tom Selleck, who have been embraced as family by the American audience. We also extend our sincere appreciation to the exceptional writing and producing teams, under the guidance of executive producer Kevin Wade, for consistently delivering captivating episodes. As we approach the final chapter of this journey, we anticipate this upcoming season to be the most gratifying for our loyal viewers."
In his own statement, Selleck, who is 78 years old, has reflected on bidding farewell to the long-standing drama, Blue Bloods.
"I have had the privilege and honor of working on a show for the past 13 years that not only pays tribute to the brave men and women who protect and serve in New York City, but also emphasizes the significance of family," the actor expressed to The Hollywood Reporter. "It has been a dream come true to collaborate with these incredible actors, writers, producers, directors, and crew, and I am immensely grateful to have been a part of this exceptional group for more than 275 episodes. I extend my sincere thanks to CBS Studios and the CBS network for their unwavering support, and I offer heartfelt appreciation to the devoted fans who joined us for dinner every Friday night."
The speculation that Blue Bloods would soon come to an end arose earlier this year when the cast and producers agreed to a 25 percent reduction in pay. Wahlberg shared with We magazine in April that he remained optimistic about the show's future.
“I’m an optimist,” he said. “I try to take every episode as it comes. I really do. I think it’s part of why I’ve enjoyed myself on the show for 13 years.”

Wahlberg, 54, hoped to see Blue Bloods achieve the same level of success as Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.
Ice-T and Mariska Hargitay's long-lasting partnership inspired us to strive for the same enduring success. To stay focused, I make a conscious effort to immerse myself in each episode and embrace the journey it presents. Instead of worrying about the future, I prefer to remain present and fully engage with the current script. Reflecting on this, I playfully suggested a Blue Bloods spinoff where Danny and Erin become private investigators in Hawaii, but we quickly dismissed the idea as it resembled Magnum, P.I. too closely.
Upon announcing the final season of Blue Bloods, showrunner Kevin Wade expressed his hopes for the lasting impact of the series. In a statement on Monday, Wade stated, "Blue Bloods will leave a timeless legacy, achieved through the collective efforts of our exceptional cast, talented and innovative writers, and the unrivaled crew. We are grateful to CBS Studios and the CBS Television Network for their support in allowing us to deliver multilayered narratives that have resonated with millions. As we prepare to give fans an exhilarating and emotionally fulfilling final season, we extend our gratitude to them for their unwavering enthusiasm and loyalty throughout the years."
