Billy Ray Cyrus Ties the Knot with Firerose to Mark a Year-Long Engagement
Billy Ray Cyrus tied the knot with Firerose, a year after their engagement, marking a new chapter in his life after his 28-year marriage with Tish Cyrus came to an end in 2022
Billy Ray Cyrus and Firerose have officially been married after being together for over a year.
"On October 10, 2023, our two souls became one in holy matrimony. It was a beautiful and joyous day, exceeding our wildest dreams, where love was celebrated in the most perfect and ethereal way," the couple shared in a joint Instagram post on Wednesday, October 11. "The moment we heard the preacher say, 'Billy Ray and Firerose Cyrus... I now pronounce you husband and wife,' marked the sacred beginning of our everlasting love. May love prevail forever! ❤️️."
In November 2022, Cyrus shared that he crossed paths with Firerose while working on the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana, which he and his daughter Miley Cyrus starred in from 2006 to 2011.
“I absolutely enjoyed being a part of that show,” he expressed to People during that time. “There were these beautiful old pine trees on the set that resembled Tennessee. Sometimes, in the middle of the day, Tex, my dog, and I would go there to relax and reminisce about how much I missed Tennessee. Then, on that particular day, Firerose emerged from the front entrance. There was an almost instant feeling of recognition. I just knew this girl was destined for stardom.”
Billy Ray was still married to Tish Cyrus at the time, but he and Firerose maintained communication and cultivated a strong friendship while working together on music. When Tish initiated divorce proceedings against the "Achy Breaky Heart" singer in April 2022, Firerose remained steadfastly supportive. "Billy confided in me about many aspects of his life," she shared. "I did everything I could to be the best friend possible, standing by him."

In August 2022, they took the decision to get engaged. Firerose fondly reminisces about the proposal, stating that Billy asked her, "Will you marry me?" to which she eagerly responded, "Of course I do. I love you." Billy expressed his love and desire for a lifelong commitment, saying, "I love you. I want to make this official. I want to be with you forever."
Billy Ray was previously married to Tish, and they have five children together: Brandi, Trace, Miley, Braison, and Noah. They got married in 1993 but eventually separated and reconciled twice before officially ending their marriage in 2022.
After the split, Tish moved on and married Dominic Purcell in August, just five months after their engagement. Brandi, Trace, and Miley attended the wedding, but Braison and Noah chose not to. A source shared with us that Tish was feeling sorrowful as the family was divided over her and Billy Ray's new relationships.
"She is making an effort to not give it excessive attention and hopes that it will resolve itself naturally over time," the source stated. "It is widely known that Noah and Braison have struggled to accept their mother's relationship with Dominic."
Amidst rumors of a dispute within the Cyrus family, a representative has dismissed the claims. "Noah and Tish's representatives have communicated and can confirm without a doubt that this 'source' is completely false and not from anyone who is close to the family," the spokesperson for the Cyrus family stated in a Us Magazine. "The family is taken aback and emotionally affected by the untrue narrative that is spreading on social media and in the media. They kindly request that everyone respects their need for privacy during this time."
