Idina Menzel, the voice actor for Elsa, has confirmed that she will be returning for Frozen 3. In a recent interview with Billboard, Menzel provided a brief update on the highly anticipated Disney sequel. Although the movie was officially announced earlier this year, details about the story and other aspects of the film remain unknown, even to Menzel herself. The first Frozen was a breakout success in 2013, and its sequel, released in 2019, went on to become the highest-grossing animated movie of all time.
What Frozen 3 Could Be About
"I don't have much information about it. Honestly, they teased us about it, but I have no clue. We were not shown any script or any details. All I know is that we are going to make it, and that's about it. So, I thought it was great news as I would be able to pay my bills."
Although details regarding the plot of Frozen 3 have not been disclosed yet, the conclusion of Frozen 2 could hint at what's in store for the franchise. The majority of the second movie revolves around Elsa's quest to uncover the true source of her powers. She eventually discovers that she is, in fact, the embodiment of nature's fifth spirit, with the other four being earth, air, wind, and fire. Elsa's ability to control the other four elements makes her an exceptionally powerful force.
The potential for Frozen 3 to delve deeper into the mythology of the world is exciting, especially when it comes to Elsa's "secret siren." The identity of the voice that guides her remains a mystery, leaving plenty of room for exploration in the next installment. Additionally, Anna's new role as Queen of Arendelle presents an opportunity to delve into the challenges and responsibilities that come with the position. While Frozen 2 lacked a central antagonist, the repeated references to Prince Hans suggest the possibility of his return in the third film, which would undoubtedly pose a significant threat to both Anna and Elsa, as well as their kingdom.
