Avoid frustration and progress smoothly in Diablo 4! Discover how to overcome the annoying bug in the action-RPG that requires players to restart the Call of the Ancients side quest Maximize your gaming experience and conquer the game without setbacks

Diablo 4's Call of the Ancients side quest in the Fractured Peaks area of the world map has been plagued by frustrating bugs. However, players can navigate around these issues to ensure a smoother gaming experience. Despite some minor bugs and glitches, Diablo 4 has been launched as a highly polished game, offering a plethora of side quests alongside the main storyline. While most of these quests can be completed seamlessly, it is important for players to be aware of the potential challenges they may face, particularly with the Call of the Ancients quest.

Diablo 4 players will gain access to the Call of the Ancients side quest upon successful completion of several other side quests within the Bear Tribe Refuge. Subsequently, Chieftain Glous will task them with venturing into the Hallowed Glacier, one of the numerous dungeons scattered throughout Diablo 4's vast world. As players traverse through the treacherous depths of the dungeon, they will encounter a formidable adversary known as Cyhrach the First Born within the appropriately named Chamber of Misery.

This is where the game-breaking bug becomes apparent. In co-op mode, if any of the Diablo 4 players' partners are deceased when they defeat the boss, they will be unable to complete the quest. Although the objective to slay Cyhrach is marked as complete, the new objective fails to appear, preventing players from speaking to Kravett and concluding the quest. Fortunately, players can easily avoid encountering this bug by ensuring that none of their co-op partners are dead when Cyhrach is defeated.

Players who encounter this bug in Diablo 4 will unfortunately have to wait for the quest to reset and attempt it again. Our testing has shown that leaving and re-entering the dungeon or even restarting the game does not resolve the issue. The quest eventually resets, but the exact waiting time is uncertain.

While Blizzard has plans to release a major update for Diablo 4 in the near future, it is unclear if a fix for this bug in the Call of the Ancients quest will be included. However, considering Diablo 4 is a live service game with ongoing support, it is likely that a fix will be provided eventually. In the meantime, players may want to prioritize reviving fallen teammates before defeating other bosses in order to avoid any potential issues.

Diablo 4 is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
