Finding Medals in Berserk Boy's New Hope City Mission One

In Berserk Boy, each of the fifteen main stages has five collectible medals to find. However, most of these medals are locked behind certain areas that can only be accessed once players unlock all five forms: Berserk, Soaring Wind, Mine Buster, Ice Kunai, and the Flame Drill. Since there are achievements tied to finding all the medals, we'll help you locate the first five from the first mission in New Hope City.

After riding the grind rail, make sure to drop down to a lower level. Take a left turn to discover Medal 2 before moving forward. If you have already reached the Area 2 checkpoint, you have gone past the spot where Medal 2 is located.

Just after you've collected the last medal and right before reaching the Area 2 checkpoint, take a moment to glance upwards. You'll see a tube with arrows indicating the way up. Activate your Berserk abilities to access this tube. If you've managed to rescue a sufficient number of Resistance members, you'll be able to participate in a combat challenge. Completing this challenge successfully will earn you a medal as a reward, along with another rescued Resistance member.

Medal 3

To obtain the medal, you need to first acquire the Flame Drill orb by finishing Mission Three. This orb allows you to tunnel through the ground, just like in the image shown above.

With the Flame Drill, you can dig below the surface to avoid incoming projectiles, enemies, and spikes. Additionally, you can use it to unleash a spinning tornado attack, which can activate specific platforms. Look for the flame symbol on objects you can interact with while using the Flame form. Don't forget, you can also spend the currency you've gathered to buy upgrades at the home base.

Medal 4

You will also need the Flame Drill power to get the fourth medal in Mission One. You'll reach an area where the medal is blocked off by a dirt wall, as seen in the image above.

Medal 5

You'll come across another transfer tube above some red platforms. Use the Berserk ability to enter it, tackle the platforming challenge, and grab the medal waiting for you at the end.

Make sure you drop off any collected Medals at a checkpoint area, as it won't count towards your collectibles if you don't.

Berserk Boy is available on PC and Nintendo Switch.
