New York Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito has no immediate intentions of leaving his parents' home.

DeVito, 25, explained to ESPN reporters before the Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys game on Sunday, November 12, that the decision was influenced by the stress levels rookie quarterbacks experience in this level of football. He further mentioned that his residence is conveniently located just a 12-minute drive away from the Giants practice facility, making it easier for him to handle the rigorous schedule, leaving his family responsible for everything outside of football.

The NFL star later clarified that the choice was obvious because his mother handles all of his responsibilities for him. According to him, he doesn't have to be concerned about tasks such as laundry, meal planning, or even making his own bed as everything is taken care of by his mom.

Justin Pugh, a teammate of DeVito on the Giants, humorously complimented DeVito for choosing to live at home. Pugh praised DeVito's decision, stating that it was a smart move and a wise financial decision. He emphasized the benefits of having parental support, including assistance with chores like laundry, ensuring a punctual schedule, and minimizing distractions.

DeVito stepped into Sunday's game as a result of injuries to starting quarterback Daniel Jones and backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor. Born and raised in Cedar Grove, New Jersey, DeVito had a noteworthy high school football career before committing to Syracuse University. He began playing in the 2018 season but later transferred to the University of Illinois, where he earned the title of starting quarterback.

DeVito signed with the New York Giants in April as an undrafted free agent but was subsequently waived and then re-signed to the practice squad four months later. The practice squad, as described by Sportskeeda, serves as a reserve team for players who can be called upon to join the 53-man roster if necessary.

It was in October that DeVito finally made his debut on the field for his team, facing off against the New York Jets. Despite the Giants' ultimate loss, DeVito managed to score the team's sole touchdown, resulting in a score of 10-13.

DeVito expressed his desire for a more satisfying conclusion to match his emotions, but despite this, the inner child within him is currently filled with happiness for having the opportunity to participate in an NFL game, especially one that held significance. DeVito conveyed his wish for a different outcome during a conversation with reporters after the game. Subsequently, he was officially added to the Giants' team on Halloween, following his touchdown.

“I asked God to help me grow and it started to rain,” DeVito wrote via Instagram following the exciting news.
