Barton Cowperthwaite, the actor known for his role in the ballet drama "Tiny Pretty Things" on Netflix in 2020, recently revealed on Instagram that he has been diagnosed with brain cancer. In his post, he shared the news of his diagnosis, stating that it is classified as at least stage 2 Glioma and characterized by a sizable brain tumor.

There is no alternative treatment for this condition except for undergoing brain surgery. The doctors involved have expressed their assurance that they will be able to successfully extract the majority of the tumor. After a successful operation and subsequent rehabilitation, I will regain my normal self, with all the amazing, talented, brilliant, and hilarious qualities," he stated.

He mentioned that he and his family intend to consult with multiple physicians to obtain a second opinion. However, at present, his plans are to proceed with surgery within the next week or so.

"I will strive to be transparent about my journey on this platform," he stated, while expressing his determination to surpass his past achievements and reclaim his former glory.

Accompanying his message were snapshots of him donning a hospital gown and a couple of images displaying his brain scans.

Cowperthwaite announced on his Instagram video that a brain tumor the size of a lemon had been detected during a scan he underwent following multiple seizures over the past eight weeks. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to his followers for the overwhelming support he has received, acknowledging that words are insufficient to convey his appreciation.

Cowperthwaite is a highly skilled dancer who showcased his talents in the first season of "Tiny Pretty Things" on Netflix in 2020. He also had roles in the 2016 TV movie "Center Stage: On Pointe," which is part of the "Center Stage" series, as well as the "Fosse/Verdon" mini-series in 2019.

Currently, he is scheduled to make an appearance in the off-Broadway stage play "Lone Star," a dark comedy set during the Vietnam War era and written by James McClure. The play is expected to have its premiere later this month.
