In Baldur's Gate 3, discussions among players often revolve around the search for magical equipment. However, there is a notable exception. Some of the game's best equipment is not found, but rather crafted. The Adamantine Forge has the ability to transform Mithral Ore into exceptional new gear.
Nevertheless, obtaining Mithral Ore is not as straightforward as simply right-clicking on a node in Baldur's Gate 3. It also cannot be extracted with a conventional tool like a pickaxe. To utilize the capabilities of the Adamantine Forge, players must first locate a Mithral Ore node and subsequently devise a suitable mining technique.
How To Mine Mithral Ore
Find a Mithral Vein.
Equip a high-damage bludgeoning weapon.
Attack the Mithral Vein until its HP is gone.
Loot the Mithral Ore.
This Mithral Vein possesses an exceptional resilience, being impervious to most damage types excluding bludgeoning damage. Additionally, it possesses the remarkable "Sturdy" attribute that automatically mitigates damage beyond a specific threshold. To effectively handle the situation, it is advised to replace party members with individuals possessing substantial strength and instruct them to strike the Mithral Vein forcefully. Subsequently, collect the Mithral Ore as it disintegrates following the impact.
Fast-leveling players will have already cleared this area by now. Locate the Mithral Ore conveniently located near the Adamantine Forge. Head off the path to the west and east to collect two pieces. Keep in mind that players won't be able to craft every piece, so choose wisely.
The final task is to defeat the boss at the Adamantine Forge. Killing the boss is a valuable lesson in learning how to utilize the forge and the lava flow. Once the party is equipped with these items, taking on other potential boss fights will become much easier.
Baldur's Gate 3 is available now for PC. The PlayStation 5 version will be available on September 6th, 2023. A version for Xbox Series X/S is still in development.
