Players who purchased Baldur's Gate 3 during Early Access have been upgraded to the Digital Deluxe Edition, which includes an artbook and original soundtrack. Accessing these additional digital content might not be immediately apparent, but can be easily found in their Steam files. After almost three years in Early Access, Baldur's Gate 3 has now been released on PC to tremendous success. As a gesture of gratitude for their support, all Early Access players have received the Digital Deluxe Edition upgrade, providing them with a wealth of extras both inside and outside the game.
The in-game items can be easily obtained through the camp, but finding the out-of-game freebies is less straightforward. Players who have upgraded to the Digital Deluxe Edition, whether by getting it for free or purchasing it, are also rewarded with additional bonuses. These include a 43-track OST, a visually stunning artbook PDF, and Dungeons and Dragons character sheets for the Origin characters in Baldur's Gate 3. These extra items can be found in the Steam install directory for Baldur's Gate 3, which has already been downloaded on their computer.
To locate these freebies, players can manually navigate to their Steam directory using File Explorer. They need to locate their Steam folder, usually found in Program Files, and then navigate to steamapps, common, and finally Baldur's Gate 3. However, there is a simpler method to find the Digital Deluxe Edition freebies for Baldur's Gate 3:
Find Baldur’s Gate 3 in the Steam library.
Right click on it, and hit Properties.
Select “Installed Files” to open the Baldur’s Gate 3 folder.
Open the DigitalDeluxe folder
Players should exercise caution when exploring the Baldur’s Gate 3 Digital Deluxe Edition freebies. The soundtrack contains song titles that subtly disclose plot details and the artbook contains significant spoilers for characters, locations, and plotlines across all acts of the game. Unless fans are comfortable with significant story reveals beforehand, they should avoid the artbook until they have completed the game at least once.
However, the artbook is not something players should overlook. The Digital Deluxe freebie showcases incredible concept art of monsters, characters, and other aspects of Faerun and its inhabitants. With additional context and behind-the-scenes design insights, players who are enthralled by the extensive world of Baldur’s Gate 3 should make it a priority to explore the book after completing their initial playthrough.
Baldur's Gate 3 is available now on PC with a PS5 version coming September 6. An Xbox version is also in development.
