Charity shared exclusively with We in August 2023 that leaving Dotun's last-chance date was the pivotal moment when she made the firm decision that he was The One. Despite her strong connection with runner-up Joey Graziadei, Charity had various factors to consider leading up to that crucial moment. Ultimately, she chose to send Joey home on proposal day, and Dotun proceeded to propose with a stunning Neil Lane engagement ring.
"Charity, you have truly motivated me. You have demonstrated that goodness can simply be a genuine act," Dotun exclaimed passionately as he proposed to Charity on live television in Fiji. Dotun was the sole participant from Bachelorette season 20 who had the privilege of going on two consecutive one-on-one dates. After bungee-jumping in Stevenson, Washington, Dotun was then invited by Charity to embark on a marathon together in New Orleans.

Charity revealed to Us in August 2023 that her initial encounter with her partner had a profound impact on her life. She further expressed, "The journey so far has been remarkable, but it was during his last chance date that I made my ultimate decision."Dotun felt a sense of disappointment when he learned that his parents couldn't attend his hometown date because they had already planned a vacation to Nigeria. However, Charity was still able to meet his siblings and grandmother, and to everyone's surprise, Dotun's parents made a sudden appearance. His mother even expressed her willingness to host a grand Nigerian wedding if Charity chose to marry Dotun. Finally, in August 2023, both families had the opportunity to meet face-to-face during After The Final Rose, after having had numerous video calls.
“They have a strong bond! It's been such a delightful experience," the child and family therapist excitedly shared with Us. "They constantly have a great time laughing together, just as we envisioned. He has formed a close relationship with my brother, just as I had anticipated. Needless to say, we are eagerly looking forward to the future and cannot contain our excitement about the engagement and what lies ahead."

During his last date in Fiji, Dotun surprised Charity with a unique activity called a "scavenger hunt" that reminisced their exciting journey on The Bachelorette. The hunt culminated with a heartfelt moment when Dotun presented Charity with a locket containing their own baby photos, symbolizing the cherished memories they had created together.

During the couple’s appearance on After the Final Rose, Dotun informed Charity that she was joining the cast of Dancing With the Stars season 32.
"We discussed the situation and it was something I had not anticipated to actually occur. However, he has shown immense support for it, which I deeply appreciate," she informed Us, mentioning that Dotun would be moving to California for the dance competition. "He is my greatest supporter, and it's wonderful to have him by my side. We will be going through this together, although he won't be the one dancing. I will be on stage, but he will be there with me." Charity further emphasized that Dotun would always remain her top priority throughout her time in the ballroom.

Dotun has been Charity’s No. 1 cheerleader in the DWTS ballroom, which she’s noticed.
"I wanted to express my appreciation to Dotun for his tremendous support throughout this season. Since you entered my life, everything has changed for the better," gushed Charity on her Instagram Story, shortly after the "Most Memorable Year" night where she received the season's first perfect score. "I just want to thank you for always pushing me."
She added, "A little known fact, right before I went on stage, Dotun came up to me and encouraged me to leave it all out there. It was such a special moment and it really ignited my emotions. So, thank you, my love."
